Surface Rust

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Been reading in here since buying my truck back in September of 2016. Finally decided to officially join today as I have a rust issue. I do live in Michigan but this truck was bought in Texas and didn't see Michigan salty roads until February. These little rust spots are all down the sides and tailgate. I haven't found any on the hood or front of the truck.post-171808-0-88166500-1492294873_thumb.jpgpost-171808-0-45098800-1492297361_thumb.jpgpost-171808-0-19054100-1492297384_thumb.jpg

I've seen carpro Iron-X mentioned in a few posts including this one for taking care of the rail dust. How many have actually tried it and did it do anything to paint? I'm hesitant to pull the trigger due to some sketchy amazon reviews of it staining the paint or making things worse than before. I'd like to use this on my white Sierra to cut down on the amount I will need to clay bar, but don't want to make things worse than what they are now.
