2014 GMC Sierra 6.0l swap

Recommended Posts

Not to mention the 6.0 will probably get 4 or so mpgs less on average from experience with a 03 Silverado SS and a 04 2500HD. Don't think swapping out engines is a good idea simply too much electronics with these trucks. Not saying it can't be done right just why take a chance. I am going to concur with others and recommend trading for a V8 model.

If you are serious about doing a turbo build, don't even think twice, do it. Anyone that would critique the exhaust note out the back over the turbo whine in the front is an idiot. Turbo'd 4.3 will run circles around any stock 5.3 or 6.2. In mild tune you're looking at 100hp/liter and huge flat torque curve. Without cranking the boost, 430hp / 500ft lb torque. Buddy of mine did a simple 5.3L LS swap into a 90's Mustang (very popular swap FWIW), single turbo, T400 trans. Dyno'd just over 500hp at the wheels.

The problem is currently the stock fuel system. I'm pretty sure they're unable to make over 400hp with the injectors. Check into sloppymechanics on youtube..they're doing the progression of a turbo 4.3.
