Sunnydaychevy
Anyone have or use it? Or is it worth buying the right tool for the job kinda thing? Not a hard core detailer just my black Silverado and wife's hot lava RAV4. any recommendations would be helpful, obviously price is the issue, can't justify spending $300 on a date polisher unless making money with it. Thanks for the info!
Vicarod
I think it would be easier to use a DA. The hand position looks kind of odd and I worry that one might slip with it and damage the truck due to the high center of gravity of the drill + accessory. That being said, I have never used it. Give this a whirl: http://www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/polishers/6-in-57-amp-heavy-duty-dual-action-variable-speed-polisher-62862.html I think there are some online reviews of it. That is minimal investment.

Sunnydaychevy
Is there a big difference between the two other than $40?
diyer2
Porter Cable 7424 XP. Worth every penny and some.
Vicarod
I have the Porter Cable 7424xp. Great machine. Basically the entry level pro set up. You can find them for about $100. But then you need pads, etc. I forget if it comes with a backing plate. Can't vouch for the Harbor Freight one, but if you are only using it once or twice a year...it should be ok. Sunnydaychevy
That's about it, once, maybe twice a year on two daily drivers. Not worried about if it comes with pads or a kit. Like I said just want the right tool for the job kinda thing.

Likarok
Don't waste time or money on the meguiars deal. I agree! Get the Porter Cable. I get pads from Auto Geek, they usually have good package deals on them.
