LED Lighting

Sup everyone!

 

Will be installing some new lighting in a few weeks and wanted to see what others have done. here is my line-up:

 

I will be using Rough Country's 52" Curved LED bar across the windshield:

also the RC flush rear bumper mounted LED reverse lights:

also the RC rock lights behind the wheel-wells:

I am still looking into replacing the OEM HID lights, i would like a whiter light. if anyone has any ideas or knows where to obtain better HID lights for the 2017 Silverado post a link, thanks!

how you going to mount the back-up lights? cut into bumper? bracket down below?

those look like they are supposed to flush mount.

but I'm going to borrow my friends laser level, I'll be able to make the most accurate cuts.

I love the LED swaps.

I swapped my 96 entirely.

the power dropped so much, I went all the way out underhood and dropped fuses sizes by 60amps...as well as the regular panel in the side of dash.

 

21 below in a blizzicane cold start? just like the middle of May.

 

 

to change white number, it is a number that has a K on the end.

6500K is supposed to be normal.

always whiter than old tungsten..

some go beyond, it looks like a dwarf star, or mig welders light.

 

I also found 3200 lumens (brightness value) in a projector is the last laws I found.. that was related to a lincoln from 1999.

 

you can go too bright very easily, but there is guidelines to do something right.

 

in a projector, you may even get beyond 3200 lumens without blinding oncoming traffic, as you can aim the light precisely.

I simply stopped at 3200.

I did an LED swap in a 2006 Scion tC a few years back. I swapped the Cluster, radio, hvac, door controls and steering controls. I will probably do the same to my trucks cluster and door /wheel controls after my warranty. As far ah the headlights go, I wouldn't mind upgrading to LED, but I've found on other applications that the light cast is very dull. And I believe the current lumen on my stock HIDs are at just about 4200 per bulb @ 4000 kelvin. I would like to be around 6000 kelvin which should output about 5300 lumen. I can't even locate a stock part number for the GM hid bulb.

Im in on that deal. I would like the headlights in the 17's to be the same output as my fog lights.

I have 2-2" leds on my bull bar (9-LEDs each, totaling 9,400 lumens) they are on the Kelvin scale @ 5500. I hate that the headlights cast yellow while my LED strip is 5500 and my fogs are 5500 and the 2" are also 5500. I'm all about color matching, and I think it was silly for chevy to put in HIDs at such a low K when they could have easily used LED

My HIDs are blueish on the low beam and yellow on the high beam. I dont fully understand how the headlights work. I have one projector and both the high and low beam are on the same projector but they are different colors? Neither of which I like.

I think I mixed your comment with someone else's.. my stock projector are the same, however upclose both high and low look yellowish. But at a distance of about 30-75' the lows look bluish and hugs like typical yellow halogen.
