Eraser wheel on crimson red

Recommended Posts

Has anyone use an eraser wheel to remove the double sided tape when removing emblem on a Crimson Red truck. I bought one and the weather has been awful so I haven't been able to wash the truck and try to remove them but I've heard people say not to use one on red colored paint because it can make the paint look bad. Anyone know if it's true or not?

Look man the 3m eraser wheel is super safe and shouldn't blemish your paint. That being said a good way to prep before using is to clean and decontaminate the area as best as possible. At the end of the day if it does blemish the clear coat for whatever reason it is very simple to polish it out real fast. You should be just fine I promise

The color of the base coat doesn't matter as you are only removing residue from the top surface, clear coat. Only time this applies is on older single stage paints and even then it is fairly safe with the exception of high metallics.
