Under the bumper there looks like a trailer hitch that would require drilling through the plastic bumper cover to install the ball. I would much rather have a class 3 or 4 receiver under the bumper. Has anyone replaced this setup? What brand and part numbers did you use? Are you happy with it? I want to be able to haul small boats, uhaul trailers and car dollies. I belive that I would want a hitch lower than the bumber.

Go GM and don't look back IMO. 84152031 is the GM hitch package. Same hitch as the factory installed one. Comes with the hitch, hardware, and the factory 4/7 pin receptacle that just snaps right into the bumper.

What 15HDriver says !! Buy the one that was built for it. Lucky for me my 2016 RCSB WT had the trailer package from the factory.

Do yourself a favor and don't do the hole in the bumper. The trailer tongue will hit the bumper on sharp turns backing up possibly bending the trailer, bumper, or both.

With a receiver hitch you can chose the correct ball mount to get your trailer level. With the bumper mount you get one size which doesn't fit all.

This may also be found at an auto salvage yard for a considerable cost savings. Vehicles are written off for a variety of reasons which wouldn't affect the hitch assembly. I found one for a Suburban I once owned that was flawless and never been used.
