I did not replace any harnesses.  My truck had the memory, power fold, blinker, and puddle lamp mirrors on the vehicle.  I wasn't worried about the memory aspect, just wanted the other functions.  I thought that since my truck already had those functions that I would not have to replace any harnesses.

This is a follow up to what I did to get towing mirrors on my 2015 (very early build) 2500HD gas Siverado LTZ.  I did get some very good advice from pgamboa to help me understand what I was up against and my options.  I gave the truck to my 16yr old daughter to haul her LQ horse trailer and she needed to have towing mirrors.  I wanted to to keep it as simple as I could to save time and money, but they had to be functional as far as power adjust and blinkers.

I ordered from mirrors from A1auto item TRMRP00045 for 389.00.  These mirrors do not have the power fold option, but do have LED turn signal, LED marker lights, power adjust, and are heated.  They are also manual telescoping.  To install, it took me about 45mins total and I have all funtions except he LED spotlight does not work.  For my early build, it would have required many hours of wiring and harness change to get not only the spotlights working, but also the power fold and memory.  I haven't driven he truck at night yet to see if the puddle lights work as they did with the factory mirrors.  I do now have a good pair of DL3 factory mirrors for sale on Dallas CL.

Tried the upgrade obviously before reading this post. 2 issues; switch does not function and was extremely hard to plug in, I assume it was the wrong one? Pulled a switch from my buddy’s 2018 and everything functioned except passenger mirror will not unfold or fold for that matter. Pulled a ton of fuses didn’t find a blown one. Which one would it be? Power window still works on passenger side figured it was that one but apparent not. Plugged my old switch in and functions except obviously no fold feature? Sorry to bug but I’m in desperate need of help

If the switch was hard to plug in and you forced it, you blew a fuse. I’ll have to look at drawings tomorrow. Can you share more details on this? Year and trim or your truck, what mirrors you tried installing, what harness swaps (if any), etc.

First post on this site. Love the info! I'm upgrading my 17 sierra to tow mirrors. Anyone know where I can get a pinout diagram for the harness in the attached picture? Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to shoutout pgamboa here. I got my harnesses and mirrors for my 2017 Sierra SLE over the weekend and installed them. Went in without any problems, easy enough of a project.

Finished my pgamboa wireless charge pad upgrade for my 2016 Silverado,  works perfect.  Looking to tackle a bigger project now.   Looking for input.  I have the 2016 High Country,  so the mirrors have everything, power fold, memory,  turn signals, etc.  I also believe they have lane departure sensors in the bottom of each mirror.

If I want to upgrade to factory tow mirrors,  is there a model with the lane departure?  What am I in for on this?  Custom Harness? etc?  Looking for the GM mirror model number and what else will be required.

Thanks!

I just purchased a used 2015 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ 2500HD diesel.  It has towing mirrors but everything is manual except for adjusting the top part of mirrors.  I'm guessing they are the DPN.  I'm new to ownership of a Chevrolet and also would really had loved to have the mirrors with the power fold.  I have also read that the premium mirrors with the power folds are usually standard with the LTZ model.  I'm confused as to why my truck didn't come with the premium mirrors, would it be because it's a diesel?  Also, after reading your very informative write-up, I noticed your note to get the mirrors "DQS Mirror WITH the K40 Option".  Are they difficult to find?  I seem to not have any luck in any searches for them.  Thank you in advance!

Randy,

Lane Departure is a feature that supported by a camera that is located in front of the rear view mirror. This cannot be easily added. Side mirrors won’t have any sort of sensor for this.

With that said, there is an “Kit” by Echomaster Intellihaul that adds cameras to the lower caps of the side mirrors. These cameras provide a view of the “blind spot” area and are triggered by your turn signals.

Rhanna,

I am currently working with 2 members right now with this similar build as yours.

2015 - 2500 with A45 Seat Memory and the 1st Gen DPN Mirrors. The issue that both are having is that the driver side power folds but the passenger doesn’t.

We think the issue here lies within the Seat Memory Module (located under the passenger seat). Since this build came off the factory floor with Seat Memory, generally speaking, power Fold is activated except where the mirrors type chosen is DPN. We are currently working through this issue and seeing if a calibration of the Seat Memory Module resolves it.

Out of the 500+ members I’ve helped, I’ve seen 3 Times, 2 of which just surfaced this week.

Thank you very much for the feedback.  I will keep following to see if you find the resolution to this.

With that said, there have been others with this build that just worked. :). So there is no rhyme or reason as to why.

I did not replace any harnesses on the truck.  I did not think that I had to replace any harnesses due to my truck already having all of these functions.
