Woke up to a new set off gm tow mirrors for Christmas bless my wife and daughters.  Mirrors are 23351786k and 23351802k. Truck is a 2016 2500hd Silverado LT midnight edition with crewcab. Checking in to see what if anything is needed to replace my standard heat and power adjust non tow mirrors with these new ones. If anymore info is needed to determine what might be needed let me know. Thanks in advance for any help and merry Christmas and happy new year

Nice! I don’t recognize these part #s off hand. Can you tell me if slot 4 and 18 are loaded with pins? If so, they are power Folding. If not, they are manual fold.

You’ll need a set of new harnesses that’ll accommodate the mirrors.

Just noticed that a paper that came with the mirrors containing an authorization code list a part number 23371780. Sorry I can’t tell you about the pins because I had a chance to install them today so I did even though I new I would have to go back in. I’m on vacation too! Not sure why those numbers on the mirrors seem weird ,old stock maybe. I’m pretty sure they aren’t power fold I could move them easily by hand. The mirror glass moves with the power adjust switch but that’s it. Not sure about heat yet. None of the lights work. Let me know what you will need for info that I haven’t included so I can get harnesses. Thanks for your response.

Question about OEM P/N's

Looking at a used P/N 23241465 LH assy I think this is a older RPO DQS, when looking at GM parts web site it states this P/N was replaced by P/N 84041609, so I assume this older part would work, can you confirm?

Also looking at a P/N 23241467 RH assy, GM parts web sites say this p/n is discontinued with no replacement options, is this a older RPO DQS?

Thank you

Correction on RH P/N I had a typo

Part # 23241465 looks like a power Folding driver side mirror. GMPartsgiant also shows 84041609 as its replacement... so you should be alright with this one.

As for 23241667, I can’t seem to find anything on that part #.

Sorry I had a typo on the RH Mirror P/N it should have read P/N 23241467 and  there is also a P/N P/N 23241469, both are listed as discontinued on the GM part web sites with no description.

I assume one is for gas and one is for the diesel (temp sensor), I cant tell if these are DQS, the P/N's are close numerically to the LH side which is P/N 23241465 , any ideas on these?

Another interesting thing, GM #PI1255P  Instructions for changing to camper outside rear view mirrors, dated Oct 23 2017, for the DQS swap from DL3 lists P/N  22960565 LH and P/N 22970649 RH, both of which are listed as discontinued???

It seems strange they didn't list P/N 84041609 LH and P/N 84228892  (RH Gas) or P/N 84228894 (RH Diesel).

GM supersedes part #s all the time. So while one may be “discontinued” that just means a new part # superseded it.

This is my current list.

DQS Power Fold - Chrome Towing Mirror

Part # 84041609 - Driver
Part # 84228892- Passenger (Gas)
Part # 84228894 - Passenger (Diesel - K40)

I use GMPartsgiant.com and it shows the updated part #s for what you provided. And yes, the 2nd part # for the passenger side is a Diesel which showed superseded By 84228894

So I did a little more digging and got the receipt from my wife which lists part # 23372182 as the part number for my mirrors. The part number comes up on the web as mirror kit includes both mirrors. This I think is why the part numbers I listed seem confusing although when I search gm part# 23351802k it does show a new part #. I know I need harnesses like you said so I hope I can we can figure out what is needed. I realize I can tell what the pin count and location is on my old mirrors however if you need info from the new mirrors I will have to pop off the door panel to get that info. Hope this helps looking forward to getting some of your harnesses.

23372182 is the “kit” that comes with both mirrors which are DPN (Non-Power Folding) Mirrors with black caps.

Makes sense thanks. Do you have harnesses available for my truck as described above. I read you’re on vacation however if you have them available how do I purchase them when you get back? Thanks for your response.

Give me some more information on your truck. Year/Trim, etc. you might only need a power Fold switch.

Hey Pgamboa, I’m new to this forum and I know it’s kinda old but I have 2017 Silverado 1500 LTZ  that came with DL3 mirrors, I recently traded someone with DQL mirrors from there 2016 Silverado 3500 Highcountry. I hooked up the DQL mirrors to my truck and everything works but the led in reverse, daytime running and Amber turn signal. Just wondering if the harness need to be changed or does the dealer need to get involved at this point to fix the problem.

Just a harness is all you need. You stayed DQL. I presume you mean DQS? If so, they should power fold as well right?
