Have you tried tow mirrors part number 1AMRP01792 on a 2017 GMC Sierra SLT? Would this work all the features of the truck?

Thanks in advance for your response

1AMRP01792 does not have mirror memory. So you'll lose that function if you get those mirrors. 1AMRP01786 is the only after market mirror that I'm aware (and I've looked extensively) that has mirror memory. They have gone down in price and not much more than 01792. They were priced at $750 at one point and has come down to about $550. They were out of stock the last time I checked.

I have a 2017 LT 2500 Diesel own non blinker, non folding basic mirrors. I bought tow mirrors with blinkers, heated, manual folding, amber lights and the led lights that shine towards rear of truck. I figured it couldn't be that hard to figure it out.......wrong, I'm more confused and now I have a check engine light on. I did buy cheaper made mirrors from eBay. Please help. All I care about is the blinkers and backup lights

my guess is for the check engine light, you need the diesel temp sensor in the passenger side mirror.

Check engine light is because you got mirrors that doesn't support the K40 Option. This is the temp sensor in the passenger mirror. If you look at the bottom your stock mirror, you see a black plastic thing. This is the temp sensor.

You'll either need to:

A. Purchase a harness kit from that take care of the lighting portion. Swap out the door harnesses.

B. Purchase a DIY Kit from me and modify your existing harness.

With either option, you'll still get the CEL until you figure out how to retrofit the temp sensor. Maybe you can remove from the stock mirror and somehow add it to you tow mirror?

Also - did the new mirror have any strange wiring in the 18-pin connector?

Ok guys. I have read through all the messages and replies and kinda confused. I have a 1500 LT with heated and power mirrors and all I want to work on the new mirrors is everything but power folding in and the turn signals in the glass. How do I tell if I need the new diy wiring harness and what mirror I need. Thanks.

When changing mirrors, you will need new harness to accommodate the lighting. The lighting circuits are different between them. The ONLY time you will not need a harness change is if you already have towing mirrors that are non-power folding and upgrading to tow mirrors that are power folding. I offer a Plug and Play harness set or, if you are handy DIYer, you can get my DIY Kit and modify your existing harnesses to accommodate the new tow mirrors. When choosing a mirror, OEM will not need anything else special. It'll be PnP. If going aftermarket, be cautious and most aftermarket companies out there will have their mirror connector pinned in such a way that requires special hard wiring. If you decide to go with after market, you can send them to me, and for $100 will correct their connectors to make them Plug and Play.

Part # for most folks for the power folding - mirror adjust switch is Part # 23154702. For some 2014 and early 2015 (HD) trucks, there is a variant part # that is keyed differently. In that case, its Part # 23488411. Please see the first post of this thread for reference. You can easily verify this without removing the entire door panel.

Here is my video on the entire process. Fast forward to 15:18 of this video to see how to remove the switch to verify.

Folks,

I'm coming up to a very busy work schedule for the next month. I have tried to be extremely responsive to PMs, replies to threads, emails and text messages.

If you are interested in this upgrade, please reach out to me asap. I have harness sets/DIY Kits ready to go in preparation of the busy schedule.

Once work schedule picks up... it may be days for a reply.

Thanks everyone!

I have DL8s. Power, heat. What's the best aftermarket out there. Last resort OEM if the aftermarket suck.

I have only had my hands on aftermarket mirrors by 1A Auto. They have a lifetime warranty.

You'll have to decide if you want power Fold or not.

If power fold - there are several out there from 1A Auto. But they all require connector customization. I can provide this as a service.

1AMRP01792

1AMRP01771

1AMRP01786 - Had a bonus Puddle Lamp that shines downward. The ONLY tow mirror to offer this.

If non-power fold - 1TRMRP00045. This does NOT require connector customization.

In addition, a set of my custom PnP harness sets.
