Just finished towing mirror upgrade to 1aauto part #: 1AMRP01792. Had mirrors sent directly to pgamboa to check for correct wiring and setup. Phil did verify that there were some modifications needed to wiring and he fixed all the issues. He then installed on his truck for testing prior to shipping to me. About 12 days from placing my order to now installed on my pickup. Was a super easy install, truly plug and play with his help, well worth the money spent.

These mirrors don't have all the options but did have what I really wanted. I lost memory, reverse lowering and puddle lights. No big deal since I'm the one that drives this 99% of the time so mirrors almost never need adjusted. Reverse lowering not needed now with the larger field of view. Puddle lights I really never noticed anyway.

For anyone looking at the upgrade I would highly recommend sending to Phil. Communication was great and he was constantly texting me with updates.

Thank you the feedback! For anyone looking to order from 1A Auto and want to have the mirrors shipped directly to me for this customization for PnP, please contact me for details. I now offer this as a service. Here are some photos of the connector and a review video.

Got my lights from 1A Auto installed this weekend. Part #TRMRP00045. Got the harness from Phil, watched his video once and went to work. First side took about an hour, but the next one took 39 minutes. I'm sure the more you do, the quicker they get too. The mirrors came with wiring to make them work, but that would take much longer, and leave extra connections. Getting his harnesses is well worth it, just for ease of installation. Plus, everything works as it should. Thanks again!4f065ccb6d7ee2e60e1ce013a4f57112.jpg

It's very possible that the previous owner swapped mirrors and kept the same harness. What is Year and trim? There are some folks that will take the "see what happens" approach. If your truck is a higher trim LTZ/High Country, SLT/Denali, its possible that your park lamps (running/clearance lamps) are behaving like puddle lamps.

My truck is a 2015 Gmc with SLT trim , original mirrors had no markers not sure on puddle light , do you think truck side has marker pre-wired and that I would only need to add to door harness ? GM says no fix ?

There is always a fix. Just depends on how far your dealer will want to go. If you can get a couple of photos.. I can tell you for sure. This will tell me if your door jamb connector (going into the cabin) is pre-wired. If it is, then you'll just need a new harness set (which I can supply).

FYI - I do go on vacation this Friday (for two weeks) and taking orders until tomorrow.

I just performed the DL8 to DL3 mirror upgrade on my '17 LT Z71. The job took me about 1.5 hours start to finish using the harnesses I got from PGamboa. Phil has obviously done his homework as this job was absolutely plug and play. Couldn't have been easier and the harnesses look absolutely stock. Power adjust, power fold, turn signals, puddle lights, and heat all work as they should. Well done.

I just purchased a 2017 Sierra SLE today with DL8 mirrors. On my last 2 trucks, (2012 Sierra and 2014 Silverado) I've installed tow mirrors and want to do the same on this truck.

I just read through this entire thread and there is lots of great info. I originally wanted to get tow mirrors with the signals in the glass. But reading all the work that has gone into this conversion, I'm tempted to go further and get power fold.

Now, having DL8 mirrors and looking to get tow mirrors, what DIY kit options do I have for mirror options. Can I go all out with power fold, heated, and all the lights, or only able to go manual fold, but heat, power and signals in glass or on the outside of the mirror.

I realize I have to change the mirror switch which is no big deal.

On my last vehicle (2016 Acadia) I replaced the entire front wiring harness of the vehicle which went to headlights, sensors, horns etc... from fuse box and spidered across the engine, all to get factory fog lights working. So I'm not afraid of doing as much DIY as possible.

This upgrade is really easy for you. I offer a DIY Kit to modify your own harnesses. Add an OEM fold switch and your good to go.

I'm on vacation right now, but responding to PMs and taking orders. I start filling orders upon my return on 7/9.
