Yep. So in this case, you would need DQS Mirrors. That should take of it. You can sell your DPN to help recoup some of the costs. I can get DQS Mirrors for $1058 shipped (plus PayPal fee) if interested. PM me.

Ok, Thanks. I’ll have to pass and wisely spend it elsewhere on something needed.

DL3 mirrors are the smaller power fold mirrors, not tow mirrors. So confirm if you can. DPN and DQS mirrors are tow mirrors. DQS is the power fold version. RZY is needed for 2014 trucks. That will take care of the cabin/under the hood side.

I went this direction with @pgamboa last year and it was totally worth it!  I also had him send me his harness and the factory switch.  It put my mind at ease knowing that I was getting everything I needed, the first time.  I had no worries of buying non-compatible parts and needing to ship anything back. It was also nice knowing that he is still around and willing to answer all questions and walk anyone through the install process, even though all the information to do this upgrade is in this thread.

BTW, I love my tow mirrors and they are a total game changer pulling my 31' camper!

Have you got the mirror fold switches in stock yet?

Been waiting weeks from GM to send me more. No idea when I’ll get more.

hey just want to say great write up I’m new to this forum I’m on the other Silverado/serria. I’m wondering if I can install basically any tow mirror on my 2015 high country as long as it has the options on it I want? I found a 2015 oem power everything for 100 bucks it has couple scratches but I’ll restore it to new but I need drivers side and can only find 2013 just wondering if the wiring and it’s capabilities separates it from 2013 and 2015. Also plan on adding switchback signals to it so I’ll have to hardwire reverse anyways.. My truck has power everything I believe.. I didn’t plan on this mod but I added beacons and the tows are a must now.. seeing my options Here’s some pics I’ve done everything myself hardwire and solder putco lightbar directly into trailer pin myself..

You don’t want 2013 mirrors. They won’t bolt on right. You also don’t want tow mirrors from 2014 - 2500/3500HD trucks because those were the last years in the 07-13 range (2014 HD trucks carried over one More year).

2015 - 2018 is what you want. If you get a 2019 mirror off an HD trucks, those would fit as well as GM did the same by carrying over one more year for HD.

There will be wiring needed to get the lights to work but we’ll have to validate that as well for the needs.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm going to be needing tow mirrors within the next month for my 2017 and my only hold up is power folding or manual folding. (Well that and whether to go with OEM, BoostAuto or the 1Aautoparts mirrors)

Has anyone here bought manual folding and then regretted not getting power folding or bought power folding and realized you really didn't need that option?
