Hi Phil,

I’ve had towing mirrors on my LTZ for the last year and finally getting around to hooking up running and cargo/spot lamps.  Please let me know how I can go about purchasing the DIY wiring from you and if this will cover what I need.

Thank you!

Send me a PM. I am on vacation until week of 1/6 but taking orders.

I have the DL8 mirrors. I’m looking to upgrade to the DL3 mirrors. Does your harness support the existing features.             ( heated, electric adjust) and does your harness support the signal light, puddle lamps and power fold and simmer for both mirrors? Thanks

Yes. As for the Dimming Function, that’s only on the driver side and requires a dimming rear view mirror and a secondary harness. Once those are added, the driver side will dim.

How do you like the 1A Auto brand mirrors? Any difference in quality from OE? I’m really tossing around the idea of purchasing them so I was wondering how you like them.. thanks

So changing the mirror switch will allow me to fold my mirrors? the RZY harness adds the puddle lights and turn signals? . I have the dimming rear view mirror already.

Hi Phil,

I think all i need is your diy kit. I have 15 Silverado 2500hd duramax high country.I replaced the DL3 mirrors with A1 Auto 1798 mirrors. Everything that worked before works now but of course the marker and spot lights don’t. I checked the body side of the door harness and it has pins 11and 9 that I checked with test light to confirm.  Thanks for your help.

The RZY Jumper are for 2014 and early 2015 trucks that are upgrading to tow mirrors and are missing pins 9 and 11 in the door jamb. That is all the RZY is for. GM didn’t land these circuits to the door jamb. Once these are landed, then corresponding door harnesses are needed to make the mirrors work like factory. A switch is needed if you get power Fold Mirrors and want to gain power fold.

With 01798, that would be correct. Since the High Country Truck has Seat memory, your door harnesses will be pinned to support puddle lamps and turn signals.

With my DIY Kit, it’ll allow you to modify your door harnesses to add the missing circuits.

PM me if you want to order.

Thanks!

Phil

Hey Phil, I have a 2016 crew cab Silverado LT 5.3 V8 with DL8 mirrors and I want to upgrade to DL3 mirrors. I have the mirrors and the door switch already. Do you make the harness for this conversion? I don’t have the 9,11, or 41 pin. If you do make this harness, how do I go about ordering it from you and sending you my harnesses? The video you have seems pretty detailed and user friendly. Thank you answering my questions while you are vacation,

Ah... the detailed info helps :)

For DL8 to DL3 conversions, yes, I make this harness set custom. They are $285 for the set, shipped anywhere in the US. I refund $100 if you send me your factory harnesses.

You’ll need new switch if you want the ability to fold them :). Those are $70 and I stock them.

I am taking orders while on vacation and already have a 5 day lead time on orders when I return.

PM me if you want to move forward with ordering or need more info.

After reading through 113 pages I gather that you can swap a DL8 equipped truck over to DPN tow mirrors by the plug and play method ?  Most of the topic material is centered around modifying the truck to accept DQS tow mirrors.

Yes. Depending on year, there may be an additional jumper harness for inside the cabin needed.

I am assuming the additional harness is for the reverse light and turn signal light to function?

Cargo Light and Running Light. The turn signal has always been at the door jamb. This jumper harnesses is ONLY for the cabin side of the connector. The side that goes into the cabin.
