Ok. I’m sure I can figure it out. You sell this harness as well?

Is there a particular brand of aftermarket mirrors that work best? I noticed the a1 autos but I don’t like how they don’t have the turn signal integrated into the mirror glass.

I found these that were more in my orice price range as well: https://www.protuninglab.com/20chsigmcsi1.html?utm_source=googlepepla&utm_medium=adwords&id=140891675818&gclid=Cj0KCQiAoo7gBRDuARIsANeJKUbPCcBmu-d0_1DizTtKLMe7jwmjjPzqtmS-UHAH3RWXTKs0MGdGC8gaAl0wEALw_wcB

any input here is appreciated! Thanks

I can’t comment on mirrors outside of GM, 1A Auto, AM Auto and Syppo, as these are the only mirrors I’ve had my hands on.

Many of the other aftermarket makers have been problematic in how they are internally wired. Not saying that these are, I just can’t keep up with them because many of them source from the same place.

There is a quick battery test that can be done to test the lighting. Once that is confined, then I can build the harness accordingly.

I have a 2016 Silverado, LT, 1500 Crew Cab, 5.3L Gas. Currently have DL8 mirrors and would like to upgrade to towing mirrors. Looking at 1A Auto Part #'s: 1AMRP01771 or TRMRP00045. Any experience with either particular part #? What harness do I need to make either the manual or power fold plug and play? Thank you in advance.

01771 is power fold, 00045 is manual fold. Mirrors are built the same except for that. Mirrors are plug and play with my harnesses.

I was wondering if the other article I read was correct when it stated the 2017+ trucks had the correct circuits already installed from factory? They stated GM did it to make it easier on the line to have one harness.

Maybe to the door jamb... but door harnesses still need to be swapped or modified.

 Hello,

I have a 2018 Silverado with I believe DL8 Mirrors (they are Heated, have Power Adjust, and are Manual Fold)  I'd like to upgrade to DQS mirrors if possible (DPN if not).

Any chance one of you fine folks can tell me all of what I need and respective part numbers or where to order?  If I can save some money with after market mirrors that's great. I would like all the electrical to be plug and play though.  Happy to go through Phil or GM whatever works best.

Thanks very much.

You can most certainly upgrade to DQS. Here are the pricing details for each path.

DPN Mirrors:
$495 - Black Textured Caps
$555 - Chrome

DQS Mirrors:
$1058 - Black textured or Chrome, same price.

Harnesses:
$285 for the pair, $100 is refunded if you send me your factory harnesses

Switch:
$70

As you can see, the biggest cost differential is the power fold option.

If you go with an aftermarket, power fold set, those range from $500-$650 depending on cap color options. Those mirrors will be from 1A Auto/AM Auto. I can send you links if you want to look at that route.

GM Mirrors/Pricing, I can get from a GM Parts Supplier. Harnesses, Switch, come directly from me.

Aftermarket mirrors, you would get yourself from the vendor.

Hope this helps. Feel free to PM me if you need more info. This is all Plug and Play when you get everything from me as I ensure fitment on mirrors, switch, and harnesses. I value your time, so getting it right the first time is of the utmost importance to me. Nothing more I dislike than spending all that time taking door panels off only to find an issue.

Hey pgamboa, what would you recommend to upgrade to heated mirrors on 2018 Silverado 1500? What would all have to be added?

Thanks,
Mitchell

What do you have now, and what are you trying to upgrade to?

DL8, DL3, DPN, DQS Mirrors are all heated. Heat is activated by the rear window defrost button.

Hey Phil,

Have you had anyone inform you that using that resistor inline to make your LED on your mirrors light up when the door are unlock/reverse creates a phantom current draw?  it killed my battery within 2 weeks if I didnt drive the truck daily.  I only figured it out after replacing the factory battery and the new one went dead, I found the issue by using a 10w 1ohm resistor and using my volt meter to measure the draw, which was around 3.7 ma(.11amps)which over a extended period of time killed my battery.
