Thanks Phil for all the work you put into this  project and helping me out and all you other smart people.

Just finished both mirrors and both sides work great , i did forget to land the ground ,in fact i forgot to add pin 5  to the x510 plug,so  answering my own questions for 2 posts  ago .

1.Having fold/unfold switch does not matter  to get signals and puddle lights to work!

2. I did not disconnect power and everything was okay ,but should have ,just for safety.

Next inside mirror and auto dimming.

Phil is awesome, everything was super easy and clean.  Printed manuals were awesome!!!  I did the install on a 2018 silverado with the dual function lights.  I will send pics.  I would get the trim kit like phil states in the videos.  It took me about 1 hr each door and that was bc I was taking my time and retaping all of my harness to make them clean.  I think it was longer to take the doors off bc I didn't want to screw anything up.

Hello,

ive got an 2014 GMC Sierra pretty sure they have the DL8 in them as the mirrors are power adjust, heated. No turns and no power folding. I bought aftermarket tow mirror, but I know I’ll need the aftermarket harness for the singals and lights to work. As of right now once plugged in till I can figure out what I’m gonna do for the turns and lights to work I only have power adjust and heated. Which is fine for now but I do want the turns and lighting to work. They mirrors are the new style so they have the power fold and power pull out(meaning they slide out threw power instead of manually pulling them out) just wondering before I figure out what I am doing, what is the route I’ll be going and rough cost on how much it’s all gonna be? Thanks in advance

This is the only sticker on the box. So guessing this is the model #

When searching using these model #s, it turns up an eBay listing...

After reviewing the listing, it states that the amber light can be used as a Turn Signal OR a Running Light. Many of these manufactures tie those circuits together (behind the glass). You’ll have to do some battery tests to determine how these are wired up.

PM me and can send you instructions on what to do.

Did the DL3 to DQS upgrade last night on my 2014 SLT. The DQS (GM OEM tow mirrors for SLT/Denali trim) worked with my factory setup to do the power fold, turn signals, heated mirror, memory retention, power adjust, etc.. What didn’t work are the cargo lights or running lamps (running lamps act as puddle light). So, I used Phil’s RZY harness since I have a 2014 plus the new door harnesses from him. The mirror and harness install in the door is fairly simple. Just takes some time to get everything off and back on if you’re being careful not to break anything. The RZY harness was quite a bit of work given the tight space you have to pull the BCM apart and land the pins plus put it all back together and land another wire in the fuse box under the hood. Took me 8 hours from start to finish. Everything works great though!!

Thanks Phil!

Could you send me a link to the mirrors you purchased? Please

Just want to send a shout out to pgamboa for helping with the DL8 to DL3 mirror upgrade on my 2017 Silverado.  I bought a set of towing mirrors and a powerfold switch and ordered the harnesses from Phil.  Harnesses worked perfectly right out of the box and made for a very smooth installation.  As a (former) DIYer I can tell you right now, just save yourself the agony of trying to modify things and go with a set of his harnessses.

hey guys , I've got a 2018 gmc Sierra 1500 with the DL3 mirrors. I'm looking to convert to a tow mirror with chrome caps and working  signal lights and power folding blah blah but I have not found the mirror or harness yet.

I need either some part numbers or places to buy , I live in canada and It sounds like most members live in the US.

any help is appreciated.

I’ve got a supplier that can get DQS Mirrors shipped to you for $1058 (+$60 to ship to Canada). They can be black textured caps or chrome. Harnesses are $285 for the set. Total $1403 USD.
