1991 Chevy truck radio died

Recommended Posts

Help! The radio died in my 1991 Ceverolet truck, it seems this is common and I can`t find one in the wrecking yards and the auto electronics man said he gets 3 or 4 calls a week about them and they are very expensive to get from GM does anyone know of a reasonably priced replacement that will fit where the original one is? I saw one Walmart had in a friends truck and it was horrible, I want it to look original, am I asking too much? Thanks to all! [email protected] David Wood

The 94, as long as it has the square dash, will work, the s-10 will not, at least not without custom work.

An afterthought, have to checked with BestBuy ot Circut City? They might have some from an install that the owner didnt want.

I also have a dead one in a '91!! It is about the size of a VCR tape and is tucked up in the dash above your feet. At least thats the way mine is. The clock and actual buttons is just the control box part of the radio. If the clock and control part is whats wrong with yours David, I would be interested in the actual radio part under the dash above the gas pedal if you have that too Mr Mojo?

Allthough this is not for sale this is a picture for reference of the main cmponents of a radio out of a '94. This should be the same or similar as a 91 and fit in the dash of a 91. Most likely the bad part is the actually brain of the radio which is under the dash.
