I don't guess I noticed the power loss.

Ya it was in the upper part of the power band. It choked out so much sooner. If you think about it, the flowmaster basically has baffle walls impeding the airflow, whereas almost all the other brands are a straight through design.

ya i never noticed the power loss at least in the lower gear range, but i got the flowmaster because it was cheap had had a great tone to it, now i am thinking about swapping out to res only.. hopefully it will increase the sound some at idle and keep the drone the same

Get a xr1 multicore the round one.. Clamp open the valve and remove the resonator. And then your choice of single or dual tips...

Is the xr1 muffler loud? My dad just picked up a 2017 Silverado and I've been looking into it for him.

K so I'm a little confused so many ideas and option out there not sure which way to go, so I don't want to cut the stock muffler out just in case I don't like the sound so my idea was to go to a exhaust shop and have them fabricate an exhaust system but I want to use a muffler that is not to loud but that has a nice rumble and no drone and I will be using the stock denali tip I was thinking in like a Carven R but that only comes in 3in and I need 3.5 any suggestions

I have an almost new corsa sport muffler for sale. They are spendy but no drone. I can't use it on my regular can because it's to big

I bought it for the fact I wouldn't need the flapper and resonator. Supposedly it's a drone fee guarantee. I think it's 3" I don't have any pictures right now but it was for sale here a week ago

5.3 L Jones 30-30XL muffler, love it and haven't heard anyone say anything bad about them.

Did you remove the resonator and flapper? Do you have a bid of how it sounds? Have been contemplating the 3030 vs the 3030xl. Still can't decide

So 2 weeks in, i love the sounds still but I do notice the v4 especially with cruise on around 90k/hour or so with slight load on the engine. I might pick up the range afm disabler as I really don't want to modify the ECU on a brand new truck with warranty

Left the resonator in, took out the flapper. I do get the V4 sound but I don't mind it. I use my remote start just so I can hear it rumble to life!
