S-52L
Last fall I purchased a new 2017 Silverado High Country with the 6.2 engine and 8 speed transmission from a dealer in central Florida. It now has 6000 miles. I’m hoping that someone is having similar problems and can help. I also realize there are other similar threads. This truck hesitates and surges all the time whether its shifting or in between shifts. Its not the V4/V8 AFM. The engine is running smooth and the trans. shifts strong but this inconsistent hesitation/surge is very annoying. Its like an orifice is clogged. I'm not convinced its all the transmission. I can feel it while pulling a trailer at 70 mph. The dealer has flushed the trans. the 1st time per the S.B.. I took it in for the second time and they say they cannot duplicate my complaint. Some times it is worst than others. Last time I was at the dealer I test drove another truck of the same model and it did nothing even similar. The dealer wouldn't respond and said I had to deal with Chevrolet. I called Chevrolet with absolutely no help. They said I had to go thru the dealer. I have always owned Chevrolet trucks. I’ve rented a lot of vehicles over the years and this is by far the worst vehicle I have ever driven. Other than this problem the truck is great! Please respond if you are having a similar problem. Other than taking it back or going to another dealer I’m lost and very unhappy with Chevrolet.
huntr1117
I picked up my 17 Ltz 6.2 8 speed back in August and it also had bad hesitation/surging. I brought it back to the dealer and they couldn't duplicate the issue as well. They said that the trans was fine and that there were no codes thrown. So I started searching the forums and found a post about "Gas pedal flex solution." Basically the bracket that the pedal assembly attaches to has a gap between the bracket and the floor. This causes play in the pedal. Mine had a 1/2" of movement before the pedal would actually move. The original poster cut a piece off of a paint stick and wedged it under the bracket to take up the slack. I used a 1/8" piece of rubber folded in half and wedged it under it. My truck drives totally different now and the surge is gone. It still has the occasional bad shift but I'm pretty sure that's just the 8 speed tuning. Seriously try this fix. It only takes about 5 mins and it made a huge difference for me. Some guys from the post also said their trans did a "re-learn" after this and to give it a couple of days. I'm not sure if mine did or not, but it drives great now. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

NEVER AGAIN A GM
Black Bear Tune is the only way to make your GM truck run the way a truck should run. GM can not make a truck run better than a Black Bear tune. http://blackbearperformance.com/

I know they couldn't for a while.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Colossus
While I fully support Black Bear and will use them, I suggest you wait for the warranty to expire before hand.
emailerin
Please open/FILE ALL COMPLAINTS TO THE NTSB. https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls From here, you can enter your VIN and then file a report of your issue, which will be investigated by NTSB. The more folks that do this, the more likely a recall will be issued. This is the report we filed: A rough clunk noise occurs when trying to stop, and car actually revs to accelerate speed when applying breaking and trying to stop. (IN . MOTION) This is a dangerous issue. Transmission does not appear to smoothly enter into subsequent gears. A jerk occurs in between shifting of gears. (MOVING) I have been completely stopped on a flat street, and relax my foot off the break, and the car wants to leap jump forward. This is not safe. (STOPPED) There are several reports of this issue found in online forums from other owners with the same 2017 chevy silverado. Just purchased vehicle in November. Jason stern
Hello, I just bought my 2017 chevy high country and having the same issues. I took my truck in and they stated that it was a self learning transmission. When shifting from first and second the transmission gives hard jerk. Yes, it is very irritating. I was told by the dealership to drive it till I reach 7000 miles. If it does not get better to bring it back. This does not make any since. This is a bad defect in the transmission and they will not own it.
