I listened to a system in the shop with audio frog !! sounded great , the installer and I couldn't come to an agreement so I passed on the system for y car. I think I'll upgrade the truck then go back to the car.

Nice build GRE my criticism is lose that prefab enclosure. If you are happy now you will be ecstatic once you hear that woofer in a custom made enclosure properly designed and tuned to around 35- 40hz. Otherwise I am positive that your system blows the OE Bose one out of the water.

It's not really a prefab enclosure, it's designed specifically for this truck and subwoofer. Has near perfect air space. The sub is awesome the way it is and I'm not even pushing it. This setup is obviously designed for SQ, not max output in any one area.

As for the questions on reflashing the module, it's exactly like it sounds. Behind your screen is a stock of small modules that do the stereo, XM, bluetooth, etc.

Remove the stereo module and send it to Greg @ CPS A/V to be reflashed. He doesn't do this commercially but will do it for us audio enthusiasts if you ask nicely.

This removes the factory EQ and bass roll off and gives you a flat signal to send to a DSP.

I'll have to try that one. The kick on a live drum solo sounds EXACTLY like a real kick drum. As do the rest of htem on the front stage. Literally like you're sitting in front of the drum kit at a live concert. It's pretty epic.

  • 2 weeks later...

I recall reading in other audio system build threads that the door/notification chime ended up being overly loud post-install.

Do you have the same issue?

Can you provide any more info about having the stereo module flashed?

Is there anyone doing it commercially?

Contact info for the person that did yours?
