Bose Subwoofer replacement!

I have yet to find a decent sound clip of the Bose replacement options. Can someone help?

Or you could do what I did - Sub floor mounted 2.5 cu ft subwoofer box, Alpine Type-R 15", uses a minimum of under seat storage area.
 
The box fit right in front of the fuel tank and after covering it with fiberglass and undercoating it looks almost OEM (and you only see it if you crawl under the truck).
 
Obviously a major fab job including cutting a 12" square hole in the floor but I thought someone might find it interesting.
(hole was framed with 1/4" steel and is much stiffer even with no box mounting than the original 20awg flat steel in this area. Upper and lower box sandwich the frame and clamped with 12 bolts).
Sounds awesome and will massage your brain out if you put on rap music. Funny thing is I'm all about hi fidelity and usually listen to light jazz, but I tend to get carried away with things.
 
 

I just read this and am I right to read that you cut a hole in your floor and the box is on the underside of your rig?!? Wow

Yes - I guess its been in there a year now and I've had no problems at all, sounds great and can still store a lot of stuff under the passenger side. I've been hot rodding for years so it was just a typical fab job for me, but I have to say

if you brought it into a custom professional it would be a very expensive project. When its time to sell the truck I will just build a sheetmetal plate and bolt and seal it in you'd never know it was there unless you pulled the back seat out and pulled the carpet up and even then so what ? It will be a 150k mile truck when I sell it and it won't even mattter. I'm super happy with this solution.

 

Here's a pic of the cabinet before it was mounted underneath the truck. You can see it has been shaped to fit around the fuel lines on the frame rail side.

I did 3 high power 8s on 2400 rms. They freaking slam for what they are. 

Lifted back seat 2 inches, box is 1.94 cubes net at 33 I think with a 6" aero port

That is a solid box. I did the lift c bracket thing because the downfiring box I have was too to the ground for the excursion of the skars. I think a front firing box would be so much better !

a few days, R&R interior is time consuming, but its far more work to "correctly" install the CLD & Foam &  LLP... but worth it. 

 

also I didn't really show it but the doors are full CLD on the inside skin and inside frame.

Any idea where the factory sub would be located on the truck that has the middle jump seat instead of the center console? i blew my sub and need to replace it but i cant find it.

I would be interested in this as well.  Want to upgrade slightly from what the Bose system gives me and would really prefer to keep the rear under seat space.
