All I have to do is connect the speaker wire from the sub to the amp, but I have to remove the rear seats to get to it. While they're out I'll also be able to adjust the amp for the new sub.

Nice. I ordered one with the L7 in it using the same discount. No idea when I'll get it installed. I still need to mount my amp and run wiring. 

Just bought the same setup with the ebay coupon and added a bass remote for better control. Local shop is gonna install it next week with a LOC. I'm impressed with the build quality. Very solid.

Here's how my amp is mounted to the back wall. I cut out the back wall insulation a little bigger than my amp. Then I cut a piece of plywood the same size as the amp and mounted that to the back wall. Then the amp to the wood. I originally used liquid nails to mount the wood to the back wall so I didn't have to drill into the back wall. That only held for about a week. So I remounted it using industrial strength velcro. That lasted about 2 weeks. I couldn't get anything to stick with how hot it gets during the summer. So today I finally just said screw it and used sheet metal screws and drilled into the back wall. I used rubber washers and silicone to make sure water wouldn't get in. I'm really impressed on how hard this little sub hits and it sounds great. I was on the fence about ordering the Comp R or the L7 and I decided to just go with the Comp R after hearing my neighbors tahoe with the same setup. I also didn't think there would be that big of a difference. I have my amp setup so that when the bass knob is all the way down you can barely hear the sub, almost like its stock. Turn up the knob and it hits.

Ran power wire through passenger fender then just above door harness. There was just enough room in door sill channels to fit amp power wire all they way to back wall. No drilling required. 

 

Just shoved amp amp under rear seat for now. Will prob get some plexi glass and put some bolts through then put plexi under carpet, push bolts through then attach amp. No metal drilling :-)

 

JL amp is really small so doesn’t take up much space on floor.

I just ordered the LC2i so I might get to install mine this weekend. The only thing left I need to order is wire. Any suggestions on a good brand for a reasonable price?

Order a name brand kit. JL, Rockford, alpine, etc. I ordered a 4 gauge eBay amp kit which was cheap. The outside insulation is 4 gauge but the actual wire inside is more like 8 or 10 gauge. It runs my 300w amp fine but if adding more amps or higher wattage I will spend more on a quality wire kit.

Welding cable is a hell of a lot cheaper. Look at Temco

I looked into welding cable and it looks like the price would be comparable buy the time I pieced together the rest of the parts I need. Hopefully the quality doesn't suck. If it does I'll send it back and go the welding cable route.

I got it installed over the weekend. Sounds good. Much more thump than the stock bose sub. I also did the rear seat fold down mod so I can get to the amp and LC2i for easy adjustments.

Wish I would have done the rear seat fold down mod too but for some reason I dont trust it with my kids car seat back there.

My kids booster seat is always on the passenger side and I didn't see any reason to modify that one. Still it's plenty secure when the seat bottom is folded down. If I did it again I would have cut off about a 1/4" less of the tab. I found a measurement that said to cut off 2.5 inches. It works fine but after putting the seat back in I don't think you need to cut off that much.

I'm pretty happy with the sub output for now and if I need to make any adjustments I'll just do it at the head unit. I know it's not ideal but I'm just lazy.

Soo...  having never torn apart one of these consoles, if you put your amp inside the console where the current bose sub is, can you pull out the inside of the arm rest part and reach it to make adjustments?

If you put the new sub in where the Bose sub was like I did then there isn't any room to mount an amp under there anywhere. Even if there was there would be no easy way to access it without unbolting the console or cutting part of it open somewhere.
