Thinking about an upgrade but I'm not sure how big of an update I wanna go. Currently drive a 2002 3/4 ton Gasser want a diesel. The question is do I go with same Gen or do I update to a newer Gen??

You will need the new 3/4 ton LP5 6.6 duramax with the cool hood scoop (and full factory warranty) but of course finances will dictate if you can actually afford it. The decision will be up to you unless of course you will post up your current detailed budget for forum examination LOL. Repair costs on a used high mileage diesel truck usually far exceeds anything that can happen to a gasser.

yea, it really comes down to you deciding what you want to spend first, then look for trucks that fit your budget.

if you're choosing between newer w/ high mileage vs. older with low mileage, you will have a tougher call. I would prefer a lightly used vehicle even if its older, but that's my opinion. most of the technology on the new ones is pretty useless to me.

Your budget will definitely dictate that..

I would look for one as close to what you've got now with diesel and see what the newest one is that you can afford.

It's not really a finance game at this point were already budgeted for daycare which is ending soon. So can be done. I just don't know if I wanna deal with all these bells and whistles that won't get used. Think I'm gonna try finding one after the 2002s

an upgrade gains weight, I look forward to it..

I'd go as new as possible.

2003 is another model year if not mistaken, just get bigger and bigger.

I drive my dad's 2016 half ton, very comparable to my old 96 in size and wheelbase.

I call them the 12 footers (wheelbase is within inches 142 and 145).

you can certainly tell it is heavier, more mature. More power.

I would hope you can get what you want without trim packages. Not sure what diesel realms did with choices.

I am wandering off to other realms entirely just for a manual transmission. powerstroke, cummins etc.

just need post obd2 turbo years.
