Taking my lift off

Hey y'all I'm new on here but I have a 2007 GMC Sierra and it's lifted 6" suspension and a 1.5" body lift with 35s but because of gas I want to take my lift off. What all will I need to do? Could I just go down to a 3" suspension with the same parts? Thanks in advance
