Sold my Jetta TDI back today

Back in 2013, I purchased a '14 VW Jetta TDI since I was driving 80 miles a day. Really liked the car, extremely fuel efficient and very sporty for a diesel car, a lot of fun to drive. Since then, I have gone back to driving roughly 20 miles round trip and didn't really need it anymore and was really wanting another truck.

So in '15 when they got caught fooling the system, I really figured I was gonna eat it on the trade in scene. Late summer this year, I was contacted about the buy back/fix the car options. Early figures from them showed me getting a very reasonable, almost absurd amount of money for my car.

So today, I completed the process (several months since they had to wait on the court ruling to accept the terms) which was very painless. All told, I drove the vehicle for 3 years, 60k miles and had free dealer oil changes up to this point. I received about $3k less than what I paid originally for the car new.

I didn't buy the car for its "clean diesel" and I know the fix was going to effect mpg and performance so it was a no brainier for me. After seeing the options, I can't believe many would choose to keep them.

Sorry to ramble, just my experience with VW, I felt they made it right and allowed me an out on a car that I really had no more use for.

I sold mine back 2 weeks ago. 2012 TDI Getta paid 14 k with 35 k miles on it. I drove it for 2 year put 35 k on it. They cut me a check for 18 k plus the 2. $500 gift cards in the past year. This was my sons car. It was a great car but I couldn't pass up this deal. He bought a new gas Getta GLI. These are excellent cars. VW, I sorry you have to deal with the U.S. Government. And shame on you for getting Caught. Now we're back to 30 miles a gallons again. But happy with the new car.

Manufacturers wouldn't have to cheat if the EPA wouldn't come up with ridiculous unreachable standards.

Pruitt should be interesting. I've known of him for years being an Okie. I heard him doing an interview on a low rated local show when he was first running for office, seemed like a guy you wanted to get in office to shake things up.

you know, that diesel smoke thoery is just that to me.

Something much deeper to be smashed in the wallet that deeply.. and demand jail time.

when has vw EVER been strong?

the westfaila with the liquid boxer and AWD is where it left off in my world.

The jetta is top 3 most dangerous tin cans in my region, they even rollover like a hot dog by a curb.

on the other hand, dare devils will like the cheap prices.

I spotted a temp dealer plate on a bright red one recently.
