Code scanner for 1994 Beretta (Almost a truck..)

Recommended Posts

Okay, I know this is not a pickup.. but there seems to be a few GM wrench turners that may have the answer to this. I brought a 94 Beretta for my daughter, and it is setting the SES light pretty much every trip. The problem is that it has a OBD-II 16 pin type connector, but everything I find talks about shorting two pins on a 12 pin connector.. which i don't have.

So before I go smoking something.. would anyone know what kind of tool is used to pull the DTC's....

94 for seems to be the year of changes, The lower control arm bushings were shot, so I got a set and pulled the control arms only to find I had the wrong bushings. The control arms had a vertical bushing in the rear, which i found out was a part for a 95?? So then I asked for the bolts for stablizer.. and was told there were none?? But the parts for the 94 worked....

At least the parts are super cheap for this car....

Thanks for any info you may have...

Steve

Are you sure it's a '94, because I thought they changed the Beretta's to OBD-II in '96 and the '88-'95's had the 12 pin DLC.

Either way, if you have the 16 pin DLC connector, you'll need a scan tool of some kind.

If you have an Auto Zone parts store near you, they advertise doing free code scans. Might be an option.
