No I'll do it my self but I don't feel like taking that risk now for no reason. I've taken pictures proving it can be done I never said I would write a how too. Literally I drilled a hole and put a nut on the other side of the sheet metal. If someone can't not follow those directions they shouldn't be attempting to do this work.

If you don't use it to haul like a truck then why buy one? Just so you can say you have one? It's still a truck no matter how much it cost. I guess you just want to look cooler with a bed extender when salt treated lumber (used on porches and decks so won't rot), ratchet straps or a ratcheting bar that can be used to extend side to side will do the job perfect and not cost as much. But hey, it's your truck so do what you want. It's not always about spending the most money you can to look cool.

Today I was bored. Figured I'd make it adjustable and easy to remove if need be. Won't win any awards, but it was free and I had fun making it. Wish I had a plunge router now though. ;)

Last time I use a router was back in woodshop in high school. But uh oh, you better cover it with something to make it look better and look cooler. I keep stuff under the toolbox and just used a cheap ratchet strap using those lower hooks. If I haul anything longer than the bed then I still have no use for an extender too be honest, just use ratchet straps to keep whatever I'm hauling in the bed. The only thing a bed extender is good for enough to where it actually helps is with the tailgate up and it's a small area to put small things. Even then I would just put that stuff in the cab or bungee it to a tiedown like a gas can so I wouldn't have the smell of gas in the cab. I also kept a milk crate bungeed to a tiedown and it did a decent job holding real small things in place. There's more than 1 way to do things and you don't always have to spend a bunch of money. But like I said before, some people worry about what others will think.

I have two 2x4s, cut with tapered ends, for the front and back. One has "top passenger side" written in permanent marker on the one side...

The 2x4s were even repurposed scrap...

Works for me...

You weren't very clear that you used the nut by removing the tail lights. Thank you for the insight.

Yea you are right that wouldn't work for me the wood is chipped and unless those bolts are gold plated it wouldn't be good enough.

Yup you're right. I personally have no reason to have more than 1 truck unless I have an S10 drag truck along with a truck I would use to work and go mudding. I had to actually sell my '14 because I'm having a major medical problem and plan on buying an old square body like my first ('86). I'm not going to get anything newer than an '86. Straight front axle and no computer. If I want something else to daily I'll get a gen 4 Camaro and may even take it to the drag strip once in awhile. I'm actually glad I had to sell it, I don't want to worry about scratches or dents on a truck. I had my time with a brand new truck and I realized for me it makes more sense to just have an older truck.

Yay let's get a slow clap going for this guy LOL [emoji1319]

So I may have missed it earlier in the thread but does anybody have the Ford part number? I may just buy one from my local Ford dealer and install it in my Silverado.
