Bed Extender

Recommended Posts

Not much offends me, just makes more sense to me to what I said. I don't know about you, but I have a truck to use as a truck, not as a "fashion statement" just to say I have a truck. You better make sure not to scratch the inside of that bed, it might lower the value. It's really no different than buying a diesel just so you can say you have a diesel and you don't intend to even use it to tow which is what it's meant to do. Again do what you want, but you just seem like you only bought a truck so you can say you have one and will only haul groceries with it. I guess it's one of those things I can't understand. People care too much these days on how they look to total strangers.

I understand where you're coming from, but that's kind of like saying there's no reason for anyone to buy a car that goes faster than the speed limit.

I wouldn't say faster than just the speed limit, but maybe one that can go 150+. I wouldn't buy a high performance care unless I was going to take it to the track so I'm still on the same level as what I said about a truck. Ever since getting my license I've always had full size Chevy trucks. I use them as a daily but I also jump at the chance to use them as a truck. I'm not saying you should use it to haul or tow every single day. But, my point is that it seems like he doesn't even plan on using it as a truck and only got it as a status symbol. I think that because he doesn't like how a 2x6 would look so he'd rather get a bed extender because he seems to be worried about what other people think, even the ones he doesn't know. I'm not going to tell someone how to spend their money, I'm just giving my opinion on it, that's all.

I guess this means this is my real truck and then my status symbol is in front of it????

I would have taken a picture with mud on it from hunting yesterday but it is raining here, o yea I can't fit any rocks or dirt in the back right now because there is a dog box in the back but should be able to in a couple weeks after hunting season. 195,000 just time to retire her from day to day driving.

Yup you're right. I personally have no reason to have more than 1 truck unless I have an S10 drag truck along with a truck I would use to work and go mudding. I had to actually sell my '14 because I'm having a major medical problem and plan on buying an old square body like my first ('86). I'm not going to get anything newer than an '86. Straight front axle and no computer. If I want something else to daily I'll get a gen 4 Camaro and may even take it to the drag strip once in awhile. I'm actually glad I had to sell it, I don't want to worry about scratches or dents on a truck. I had my time with a brand new truck and I realized for me it makes more sense to just have an older truck.

I recently had a F150 and traded up to the GMC I pulled my Ford bed extender out of the F150 and have installed it in the new GMC all I needed to do was drill one hole per side in the bed and add a nut. I painted the hole after drilling so not to get rust. The bed extender is great because like already said it will create a place inside the bed for small things or flip it around to extend the bed. the only issue I have is that the extender doesn't fold exactly flat when not in use like it did on my Ford it sits off the bed maybe 1/2" more than it did on the Ford not really an issue but I wanted to say something about it
