Borla Touring installed

Recommended Posts

New guy here. I've been lurking around for a while. I bought a 2016 Silverado 5.3 three weeks ago now and I love the truck. After reading several posts I decided to go with a Borla Touring especially when I was able to get it for $912 on Amazon. I had it installed this morning and I love it, great sounding exhaust. Since my wife likes a quiet vehicle I had to keep it toned down so this is a good compromise. Heres a video I made before/after. Let me know what you think. This is a great forum, think I'll hang around for awhile!

Before/After

Thanks for this information and the video you posted. How are you still liking it now that you've had it for almost 2 months? I am debating if I want the Borla Touring or S Type. Did you also stay with the single pipe or go the 1 into 2 route?

As I've never done an exhaust before, does it mess with the warranty, standard or extended?

I just had the S-Type installed and it sounds similar tone to the OP's just louder I think its just right inside. I went on a pretty long drive and the volume didn't seem too loud but If you like it quieter get the touring they both sound awesome!. I don't think the warranty will be affected at all.

there are 3 different single into dual exit pipes available. dual on passenger side, dual straight back to the bumper or dual just behind the rear wheels on both sides. Borla did the install and videoed all 3 systems on my 2017 6.2 so I got to keep one that was straight back. The videos should be appearing soon here.

I love it but wish it was louder so I purchased an S-type to install (I'm gambling my wife won't mind too much). I'll provide an update once its installed. If you haven't seen this check it out, it does a nice comparison between the Touring and S-type exhaust. My favorite is the S-type;

Be sure to let us know when the videos are posted for sure. My 2017 6.2L should be delivered in about 2 weeks. In the meantime, can you post a couple videos with your S-Type system? Thanks!

Nice, I wished I lived in the area to have partaken in that deal. Please let us know when the video's are posted as I'd like to see them. I think I am leaning towards the straight back myself. Do you have any pictures of yours with the out the back pipes or a video you could post? Thanks for the info.

I was actually looking at the flowmasters when I came across that Borla video. Flowmasters are nice, but I think they just make too many of them, so when I saw the Borla video I was hooked. Good luck on the gambling. :) I would definitely like to see another video from you when you get the S-Type on.

With some work things going on, it'll probably be at least March before I pull the trigger.

Thanks!

Lisa from borla is supposed to let me know when the videos are ready and may post them to the other thread. In any case you'll see em :-) They gave me a small sample video for sound comparisons but asked i not share it.

If you like the sound the S-type is not annoying. If you like the sound but like more quiet for long trips maybe the Touring. I had the same dilemma ...totally ok with the S-type now i have it ...good luck!

The video is interesting because I was set on the S-type but the touring sounds louder than I expected. Now I'm really not sure lol
