Hey Forum,

It's getting to be around that time for new tires on my 2014 Silverado Z71 (Have 2" leveling kit on it). If I add 2" wheel spacers, I think I can negate the rubbing issue I've read about on here. My thought on this is that since a 305/55/R20 is a 12" wide tire, and the stock 275/55R20 is 10.8" wide, adding 2" spacers should fix that issue I guess. However, I'm also not sure if the 305 tire will even fit correctly on the stock 20" chrome wheels.

I used https://tiresize.com/calculator/for comparing the tire sizes (attached).

Stock tire: Goodyear Wrangler SR-A, 275/55R20

Want to upgrade to: Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX, 305/55R20

Tire Size Service Description UTQG Load Range Sidewall Approved Rim Width Measured Rim Width Section Width Overall Diameter Tread Width Tire Weight Max Load Tread Depth (1/32") LT305/55R20 121\118Q (Blank) E BLK 8.5 - 11 9.5 12.5 33.43 10.28 68 lbs 3195 18.5

What do you guys think?

Not sure about what fits on the 2014 without rubbing just know with a tire that heavy along with the change in a taller tire your going to feel like you lost quite a bit of power. What gear ratios do you have in the axles? I went to a 33.1" tire from the stock 31.6" and I could defiantly feel it. I have the 6.2 and 3.42 gears. Really makes me want to get 4.10's. Your truck will look really nice with that tire though.

I've got the 3.73 gears on my truck. Yeah, I saw the Cooper 305s weighed in around 68lbs a piece vs the stock 275s at around 40lbs a piece. So, I'd be adding about 120 lbs extra to the truck to roll around.

I have an old thread of 305/55/20 vs 275/60/20 if you want to see pics and comments.

Sure, that would be great to take a look at!
