Clean salt off wheels

The Northeast got snow last night and subsequently the road this morning had salt on the road. I didn't have a chance to get my summer wheels off and now have salt on them. Aside from kicking myself in the ass and swapping on my winter wheels tonight, I'm trying to figure how to clean the summer ones, which are matte black My first thought is take them in the shower with me( to heck with what my gf says) and use hot water and Dawn dish soap with a soft brush. Any suggestions?

Clean them with wheel cleaner and use a hose or 5 gallon buck to rinse them off.
