Hey guys I would appreciate if I could have y'all weigh in on a decision I am trying to make. Before I start the only thing I ask is that you leave the "daddies boy" and all that other name calling at the door, as I really do not wish to be ripped on. Just because I have had nice things given to me does not mean I am a spoiled brat like some of the punk kids we all see running around town. Now on to the more important topic lol. Okay so I have a 2014 Silversdo 1500 sitting on a 6 inch Fabtech (was a grad present from the folks), I have just put 40,000 miles on it and am very happy/content with keeping it. Here is the dilemia, my dad had his 2008 Suburban 1500 Z71 converted at Eric Swanson's Duraburb shop in Florida about two years ago. He has really enjoyed having it; however now that he has had his Suburban almost 9 years he is considered getting rid of it and moving on to something new. Knowing how much I have always loved it he offered me the option of trading him and then he would sell my truck to get his new vehicle. Our only concerns are the long term effects on the front end suspension seeing as how he is about to have to do alot of suspension work on the front i.e. ball joints tie rods, etc... Since he already had a 3.5 inch skyjacker lift on before his conversion, Duraburb used some 8 lug to 6 lug adapters so that he could keep all his 6 lug wheels when they performed the conversion. I believe the front end issues he is having are because of those adapters as well as the fact his total mileage is at about 170,000 (Dmax only has 70ish). I am trying to make a pros vs cons list of making the trade and was just wanting y'all to weigh in on the possible issues I could have if I decided to take his suburban, for example engine problems, transfer case, suspension, etc... In a perfect world I would be done with school and could just buy the suburban from him but that isn't how life works lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
