Blizzaks in PNW? Too Early?

I live in Portland Oregon and we usually get a few dustings, and every once in a long while we will get a good bump of snow. Most of the winter though it's just cold and wet with the occasional icy roads here and there, usually when they occur it's early morning and late evening.

I go up on the mountain maybe 2-3 times, depending on business maybe more, and the roads up there are often a sheet of ice the whole way.

I need to be able to get around in snow/ice without a problem (have a 2016 Sierra Denali) so I have an appointment to get blizzaks on, but I'm wondering if I should wait until the temps drop a bit more, maybe mid/late December instead?

Just worried these expensive tires will wear too fast if I put them on now, but if they will do a lot better on wet roads / in the rain (pretty much constant now and often heavy) I would like that added grip.

I put a set on the wife's Cadillac in October. We usually get at least a light snow by early November. Not this year though. Still hasn't gotten below 32F at night and still in 50F-70F range during the day. Still feel just fine having put the tires on. The pickup just keeps BFG AT KO2's on year round.
