$6000 in damage to new F-150 at carwash

Silverado4x4

Recommended Posts

I've taken my '98 and '14 both through auto car washed and never had a problem. Even since I don't fold in my mirrors. I prefer to hand wash but sometimes I get lazy when it really needs it. The '98 rarely got washed anyways, usually just when it rained.

It's just funny how it literally ripped the antenna out of the fender of the truck. I've seen a video of someone just ripping the body apart with his bare hands. It tore like it was nothing. I know the steel bodies on the GM trucks have been thin the last 2 or 3 gens, but I don't think it would tear and rip like the Ford aluminum body.

Fix Or Repair Daily is all I know! Now, they are building YET ANOTHER V8? 4.8L ALL NEW PLATFORM? ONE SHIT V8 after another is this to finally let it be known that the "Ecoboosts" are literally coming apart after 60K.......At least a GM buyer when they get screwed leaves. A FERD buyer keeps coming back?

But nobody will say anything? Why has FERD gone 15+YEars with the same 250 crap FRAME? Why have they had more V8 iterations in last 30 years then MEL GIBSON has kids? argghhhh...FERD such a sham I am telling ya!

I used to be the king of rental cars.....GO drive a recent made FERD Focus......then drive a new CRUZE.....NIGHT and day difference people....Roller coaster winding going to make you puke can't even turn the radio preset because it's so F'N confusing to quiet, relaxed very enjoyable small car ride and EASY to operate CRUZE!

But somehow Joe Public has been convinced that GM purposely built faulty ignition switches, purposely tried to cover up the purposely engineered ignition switch etc. etc. Took the GOVERNEMNET BAILOUT because they can't build quality cars.....blah...blah....and FERD is just a bunch of roses? JOKE

Back on topic........Lets be honest will a steel fender hold up better in same situation? Probably it's the nature of the material and will it cost you money to fix the damage on the steel fender? Yes, it's going to cost considerably less too! So GM being bashed relentlessly for being 2nd to FERDS AL truck body is starting look like a more prudent approach to where AL goes and FE goes is probably best!

I can tell you without a doubt in our industry i.e. oil,gas infrastructure etc. THERE IS NO WAY a AL BED will hold up to what we drop, slam and place in truck beds....NO WAY!

It may all be marketing but Ford absolutely did use aluminum beds in a test fleet at a mine on previous generation trucks. And purposely misspelling Ford makes you and everyone else who does this look foolish. If you want to be taken serious. act like a damn adult.

NO point giving a Freeport McMoRan employee a FERD AL TRUCK all he will do is drive it. So who is the Adult now?

With two Chevrolet's in the garage I'm clearly not a Ford fan... I test drove F150s a few years ago when I got my first GM truck (2014 model years) that entry level F150 STX was the same cost as the middle of the road SLE GMC on a lease. The F150 just felt cheap. The panels are super thin on both my 2016 Malibu and 2016 Silverado and I'm sure the antenna would get ripped off my truck in a brush car was too but, I'd NEVER run my car or truck thorough a brush wash. I do touchless now and then but, you gotta just suck it up and wash that thing by hand.

Yup, FERD gave Mine employees AL Trucks to use for a 1yr or something? I say, "so what." Outside contractors and mine servicing companies are the ones who use trucks and I STRESS, "USE/ABUSE." So big deal on the employees who drive the contractors to the work site and then drive away!

Just like driving a round golf ball into the back of FERD AL truck bed? Perfect setup of a round ball colliding with the AL material...Yet, FERD gets away with it like it's better than sex! Look, a corner of toolbox just shot your 10 million dollar TV commercial down and GM gets nothing but Flax for taking a poke at that crappy made design.....Just saying, "go buy your ecojokes boys!"

Was this grammar a little better for ya, Mike?
