I know you said no plastidip, but its $7 for a can, you can do many many items with that can, and it lasts for years, I had it on my last car, put it on 5 years ago and its still on with the current owner.

You can pay $175 for the factory black emblems
You can try vinyl, but I don't know how well it will work on the texture.
Or actual paint

Plastidip has my vote

Vinyl overlay worked pretty well for me. It was about $12 for a sheet big enough to do both the grill and tailgate emblems. Got it on Amazon. This stuff is the "carbon fiber" look.

It depends if it is GMC, vinyl will not work on the GMC logo at least not easy or well as it has little ridges and is not flat.

IMO plastidip is just spray on vinyl really unless you want a pattern like carbon fiber. I once took off the letters of a 2006 charger painted them and tried to put back on right. Needsless to say all that time was for naught and they stayed off. After plasti dipping emblems I will never use anything else in comparison.

^ That guy above really needs to do something about that wiring to his lightbar. Never mind being a truck guy that is just hurts my eyes as a tech dude and OCD wire management person.

It was only like that for a day until I could get to routing it properly. Got dark while I was installing it.

Best way to go if you have the money is to buy a new piece that's painted or powder coated, or to paint the existing one. Both bowites on mine are aluminum replacements and painted. I don't have to worry about having to redo plasti-dip. I got mine from autoextras.com.

Plasti-dip gets my vote as well. Had it on my front bow tie for two years and it is just now needing to be re-done due to a pea sized rock hitting it and taking a chunk off (along with part of the bowtie underneath).

Plastidip will last as long as you want it too, unless someone peels it off or it is applied wrong (which is hard to do)

Just a sample of my plastidip experience.
