SnakeEyeSS
Three articles on AI http://www.theverge.com/2016/6/30/12067648/ai-pilot-defeats-human-combat-instructor-in-simulated-air-battles http://qz.com/767648/weaponized-artificial-intelligence-us-military/ https://m.sputniknews.com/us/20151102/1029501242/unmanned-black-hawk.html And finally.... http://www.popsci.com/technology/article/2010-12/terminator-scenario ∆ That last one gets a bit scary, but I thinks it's only part of the issue it was published in. There was a part about former Pentagon AI developers who got so scared (skynet type stuff, no way to really control the AI) they quit.

CadillacLuke24
Computers can be a good thing, but what are they gonna say when this stuff malfunctions?
barry G
since the dawn of nerd electrons... they put an object to function and forget a sunstorm or any act of nature can take it out. we pick up a hot coffee cup, and know what to do. How long did it take to get a zero bleed relay? you know that 1950s item that leaves wipers running after switch is off or 50 amps sucked into a blinker and parking lights... I wonder if the electrons even have 2 sources of power...it would choke on that too in the switching. comparing to software... 1gb of stuff is for one line of codes protection. No more one sentence assembly commands anymore. they do have a long way to go. good luck. may the force be with you. Not that I am against, I am for a lot of their missions. I know I keep trying. my hillbilly 25 years has found diodes and rectifiers. Coils... still no real answer. anything with a coil. like a hurricane below 27 inches on the barometer. we will not be guiding, only guessing.... wrong/right 50/50 chance. Daryl Z71
Computers are nice and convenient, but they're starting to go too far with depending on them for safety vs educating drivers better.
CadillacLuke24
AMEN TO THAT! It's nice to be vigilant, but if people can't handle keeping their eyes on stopped traffic or their lanes, perhaps they should take the bus. Don't ruin the privilege of driving for those of us who truly enjoy and appreciate it!
kstruckcountry
I'm a little torn on the driver education issue... I'm all for personal responsibility and people deciding where their own limitations lie, but at the same time, what if the driving tests were actually challenging? If I have kids someday, they won't be taking driver's ed though, I'll teach them. There are some things taught in those classes now that are plain wrong and no professional driver would do, for example the way they teach to handle the steering wheel. I know for certain I can demonstrate parallel parking and skid control well, and those are things any kid of mine WILL KNOW before they go solo.
