Black02Silverado
This was on our local news "The Tarheel Traveler" A Chevy S-10 and a Ford Ranger. One would wonder what maintenance schedule they followed.Ford vs Chevy each hit 500k miles
SnakeEyeSS
Is the Ranger a 4 cylinder? That would be a very long 500k, I don't remember ever seeing one going even close to the speed limit.

It's 4WD so I don't think so. Pretty sure the 4WDs were all V6s though the base 3.0 wasn't fast either.
Colossus
Ranger has the 4.0L V6 that began being offered in the Explorer & Ranger in 1991/1992. The 4.0 proved to be a very good engine, knock on wood.
Beer Belly
That Ranger looks like it held up better.....still looks good.....the Chevy.....well.....looks worn out
bassJAM
As far as looks the Ranger has the advantage of being the "new" body style they went to in 93. The one they basically didn't change for the next 2 decades. I'm not as familiar with the S10 but after owning 3 Rangers they were decent trucks and easy to work on. 93 was also one of their more reliable years which is odd seeing as how it was a 1st model year. Colossus
Ford got most of the bugs worked out with the 91/92 Explorer and much of the technology on the 93+ ranger was carryover from the tire Exploder.
