Bumper problem or something else

Recommended Posts

So I bought a used 14 Silverado last week. The carfax was clean, I took it to a Chevy dealer who had said it had no body work as far as they could tell. It is was also purchased from a reputable dealer, albeit a Ford dealer. When I bought I noticed a slight misalignment/ sag on the driver side front bumper (pictured below), however the black trim along the bottom had been scraped a bit so I wrote it off to a hang up on something. I got a great price and thought I would just deal with it.

However.... I don't know if its gotten worse or if I just notice it more, but its bugging the hell out of me.

I know the clips on these bumpers fold easy.

Everything under the truck looks the same on both sides except the gap between the jack-plate (on the frame) and the plate on the bumper that attaches all of the extensions (pictured in next post). On the passenger side, the gap is a half inch. On the driver side it is over 1.5 inches, and the entire bumper housing appear to be bowed out slightly.

My question is, is this typical for a bumper problem or is it something more serious. Is there a fix or does my bumper need to be replaced?
