GM's Colorado and Canyon Drop Well Behind Rivals' Sales In Aug

Up until recently, the Duramax had more power and torque than the Dodge or Ford since the Duramax introduction back in 01. But Ford and Dodge still outsold GM in the 3/4 & 1+ ton category. Any guesses as to why? I have some theories, 1 being that Dodge and Ford still offered manual transmissions while GM figured that with an Allison there was no need for a manual. Which I suppose there really is not, if it is as bullet proof of a transmission as they claim it is (so long as you don't put stupid intense power tunes on there)

This is compelling because GM is banking people want a fully loaded midsize where recent sales are trending more mid size buyers want a cheaper alternative hence the increase in Nissan sales.

Nissan has been fleet dumping the Frontier for over a year now. Rental lots are packed with them and dealers are offering steep incentives. So I'm not surprised Nissan has good numbers.
