Boosted GEN V's

Recommended Posts

I just paid $4600 for a new in the box Magnuson TVS1900 and I think the vette supercharger is smaller and would not be worth it in my opinion. There is another guy on here with a sweet deal on a new Maggie Jvanwinkle2 $4600 also new in box

Yeah, I got that supercharger from JVanWinkle.

Now I need to figure out what my finished set up will be. Cam, exhaust, intake, boost. Daily driver. I just came out of a 06 gto so the 5.3 feels a little sluggish.

Has anyone ever thought about putting the supercharger from the new z06 on their 6.2l yet?

Sounds interesting a proven factory setup would be awesome. So does the $4,400.00 include everything needed to make it work properly on a Sierra 6.2?

2015+ Z06 SC is only a 1.7L and already spins at 20,000RPM (MAX'D OUT). Id recommend 2.3L. I wonder if a LSA SC would work (09-14 CTS-V and Camaro ZL1) Jay...why did you end up choosing the 1.9L for the 5.3? because of the smaller displacement compared to the 6.2L?

Maybe because it was $4000 New in the box i'm guessing. Compared to $6000 New in the box. You can pulley these down and make good power.

The price was right. Definitely. I have some headers coming and im trying to decide on a cam. With those things and the 1.9, I will have a fun ride. I figure the total of those parts still keep me around the price of a 6500 dollar supercharger.

Twins are the best

Twins are useless for under 1000 whp. It's been proven time and time again. Not knocking anybody but almost every single turbo setup I see has a turbo that could be spec'd better. 75% of people will simply never use say a s475 or equivalent on a daily driver. So instead of getting a huge turbo with a huge exhaust wheel that will never be used to its potential, use something smaller like I do. Spools instantly and isn't far off from a few twin setups I've seen, not all but some.

To each their own but when setup correctly a single will run right with twins.

Only difference between twins and single is piping and convenience of one or the other. Power makes no difference.

Unless your running them sequential and one turbo is designed to spool the other. Nobody does that in the aftermarket though.
