Coolant Jet from Engine Head (video)

Hello everyone.

 

There is a coolant fountain coming out of some circular grove/ indentation on the engine head. Its a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500, 4.8L, 208k Miles on the clock. The video attached shows what I am talking about. Any and all inputs are welcomed. Thanks.

Hard to tell, but is that a freeze plug?? Seems like and odd place for one.

Looking at photos on the internet, it should be a freeze plug that has failed.

Thank you guys, it seems like that's exactly what it is. That's perhaps an easy fix.

So I spent quite sometime trying to find out the part number of the freeze/expansion plug for the cylinder head but came up with nothing. All I found are freeze plugs for the engine block. I crudely measured the diameter of the plug with a caliper and came to 1-1/4" (32mm). there is this Dorman 555-024 but all websites say it's not compatible with my vehicle.

 

Any help will be appreciated
