Think I need to paint the chrome honeycomb mesh shit in my grill black, and do something with the big Hoboken chrome thing under the bumper, wtf is that thing anyway?

You can pop out the chrome honeycomb insert from the grill surround. Then spray some coats of plasti-dip on it. Works great, I did this with my '14 Silverado.

 

It's a front bumper skid plate. Many have swapped out the chrome piece for a color matched or textured.

you have photos of the end result? Assuming the grill has to come back off for this? Shouldve kept my hc grill and had it painted... grrrr

I don't have any, but if you search the forums here you should find some pics. I've seen lots in the past.

 

The grill would have to come completely off to remove the chrome honeycomb inserts. They're just tabs on the back of the grill.

 

You can plasti-dip and see if you like the look then clean off and paint for a permanent/stronger look.
