Why would it be? We went to school to learn our professional trades. They pay very well. Those early life sacrifices comes with more rewarding opportunities down the road.

Was wondering is all.

If this stopped you.....

You will have a stroke if you google Dubai High School Cars.

When I was in my A School in the military, we had 3 Kuwaties. One had a new corvette. When we graduated, he left it there, abandoned. I know the Dubai fills are driving Lamborghinis, etc. They have more money than they know what to do with...

My wife and I are both in aerospace technical professions and near the end of our careers. The pay is very good, especially now. But it wasn't always easy. I went to night school into my 30s. My wife worked her last year of college. We never had children. Our educations and sacrifices allowed us to experience many things that would never have happened otherwise. Everyone has to paddle their own canoe...but you get to pick the paddle, canoe, which direction to go.

Was once told it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission lol. Thats how i buy my cars, i just buy them. Most of the stuff i buy i hear lip but dont care, noone tells me what i can and cannot buy.

Here is another good piece of advice... It's cheaper to keep her. Respect your wife, she is the only person who can take half of your life and still make you pay the mortgage.

This topic has been very informational so far. I am now happy I posted this lol. Thank you guys! Keep the replies coming !

I'd be interested to hear how this post has helped with your concern. Finances are a serious area of stress in many marriages and it sounds like you have identified this as a potential problem area. In marriage you may find new expenses you couldn't possibly have imagined and you may never be in a position to have 50k a year each of fun money. When your son or daughter needs back to school clothes, glasses and/or braces guess who is paying. Your wishes will often be low on the priority list! I am pro-marriage but strongly suggest you go into it with a mutual agreeable financial plan. Some of the suggestions on this thread make sense, others will get you into a whole heap of trouble!!

Same. As a business owner I just go and get what I want and when I want it. I don't give her crap for spending $300-$500 on a hair appointment...well maybe a little.

My car habit is 100% tax-deductible, including all operating expenses, as well.

I guess you can say she doesn't care??

Never complains, never says anything negative, and I don't need permission to spend money that I work for. I do maintenance for all of our vehicles. I buy the oil, filters, brakes, she buys tires, simple as that. Never complained once about anything I bought and I don't care what she buys for herself. I guess you can say we both buy what we want when we want with no issues, arguments, or complaints.
