Tire help

Recommended Posts

Looking for a little help. I’m thinking about getting some H2 wheels and tires (315/70/17) and putting them on my 2002 2500HD 4x4. Will they fit? What mods will I need to make? Has anyone done this? Is that to big of a tire? Any help would be great.

As you can see I have a lot of questions...

Thanks,

Mike Smith

Well since the red x's that GF7PE posted are not a good representation of my truck, just click on link in sig. I am running a 3" body lift and "green" t-bar keys, so the front is roughly 5" over stock and rear 3", running 35x12.5x17 BFG Mud-Terrains. As far as a stock truck fitting 315's, I would imagine that they would rub, but each truck is different, mine does not rub what so ever even when muddin'. :fume:

I put the H2 wheels on with 285/70R17 Goodyear MTRs. They don't rub at all but, I wouldn't go any bigger. My t-bars are cranked but, I did that before I got the new wheels and tires so I can't say if I had to do it, I just wanted to.

I have the base truck and no one ever looked twice at it. In 2 weeks with the H2 wheels and the Goodyears, I get comments at least once a day. really improved the way the truck looks. :fume:

Dude, you can go with the H2 rims, and look for 33x12.5x17 tires, I believe that the BFG M/T's and Procomp A/T, M/T's come in that size. Also I have seen pics of an '02 HD with "green" keys and a 1" block in the back running on 34" Tuxus M/T's. looked d**n good too.
