Denali cluster in SLT

Did this option turn out to not work on the diesel trucks?  This answer was in response to 'Jakewake23" asking about getting a cluster for his 2016 diesel on page 8.

And thank you again Chris for your time.  If this needs to be moved off the thread please let me know.

Gas clusters won't work in a diesel.  They don't have the circuitry for the glow plug indicator and will throw a code tripping the CEL.

There is one on ebay right now for $276 or best offer. I wanted parts out of it to change my cluster to blue gauges. So I sent him an offer of $100. They countered for $199. Its a 2017 Denali diesel cluster

It says BRAND NEW.Never installed in a vehicle. But no box and there is scratches on the face.

Thank you sir. Looks like I will be going with the proper Denali cluster and doing the blue LED mod to it.

Sorry Chris @ WAMS for dragging this out on the thread. I’ll email in on Thursday with my VIN to get proper Diesel cluster part # for my truck.

Think I might pick this one up as a parts donor.

Thank you

I have a 2015.5 Silverado I want to do this mod to, and after reading through this thread I see the tahoe cluster won’t work for my year, so if I pick up a Denali cluster like you stated for yours, how do you plan on changing the led’s to Blue?

Here you go, made a "how to" on what I went through to accomplish this setup.

If you look on page 36 you will see where a gentleman has already done this and made another thread showing how he did it.

Would a 2015 Yukon Cluster work on a 2015.5 duramax silverado? It looks like the Denali trucks have red on them even with the LED’s off, whereas the Yukon is all white when it’s not lit, which looks better to me. I need to figure out how to get a 2015.5 ltz duramax silverado to have this sick display cluster, anyone have any ideas?

I think i've said it here but it bears repeating: There is about a 90% chance if you buy a cluster on ebay marked as New its in fact used. I'm getting units that are VERY obviously physically used in (before we even verify programming on them) that people are being sold as new; FYI.

Yes, i was one of those people. The seller RollingAutomotive on eBay sold me a cluster as new. When I received it I sent it straight to Chris without even looking at it. Chris sent me some pictures and it did in fact have miles on it.  I’ve contacted the seller regarding this and will see what they respond with.

Yeah. Probably tell you to send it back at your expense..  if so, yell them it was false advertising and its gonna cost you $100 more for programming. If anything, tell them you want $100 refund to cover the programming from Chris.

Side note, ive seen many diesel clusters on ebay yesterday. A couple say, new- never installed into a vehicle. As i posted a screenshot of a listing yesterday.

False advertising, yes it sure is. But just to make sure it's clear, whether or not the cluster is brand new or used, it will need programing/re-programing to function properly.
