Trade my truck for a jeep

Jeeps can't be good off road. The one I was just behind slowed down To 15 mph to go over railroad tracks while The corolla~ in front of it went 40.

Well it depends on the driver and how they drive. On one of the main roads in my town there's a part right before some railroad tracks where there were about 3 or 4 rectangles cut out of the asphalt to work on some pipes or something. Well right now they just filled the cut outs with gravel until they get around to patching them. The other day I was behind a lifted Silverado that was the '99-'02 body style. He actually did everything he could to go around them and go in the oncoming lane just to avoid them. Me in a stock Silverado (not even leveled) went over them at the speed limit. It was a plus to see all the dust come up like it would on a dirt road. Really it depends on what kind of off-road you do. Short wheelbase is good for not high centering. But, if you lift it you defiantly need to make the contact patch wider with wider tires and maybe even an offset to have them stick out even more. I myself isn't a Jeep guy, but if I did have one it would be an old one just for off-road and probably wouldn't even be street legal. I would still just get a reg cab short bed old Chevy anyways.

That can be me. The crossings in Michigan were all over the place. Some you could bomb over and not feel so much as a ripple and others would wreck a M1 tank if it went too fast over it. And it can be hard to judge.

I doesn't take too long in short wheel base vehicle that's lifted to learn to slow down on bumps. They tend to bounce like a bucking bronco.

The Jeep is super touchy about bumps mid-corner. But hey, when you nail one the wrong way it makes the tailgaters back off.

Don't do it. Just traded in my 2015 Wrangle because I got smart and realized how impractical it was with 2 growing boys that play Ice Hockey to be driving back and forth with all of the gear. The only upside in the Jeep is they get excellent resale value!!

Jeeps are fun. Not nearly as practical as a truck, but loads of fun. They can go a lot of places, just not fast. That short wheel base means if the back end steps out, it happens extremely fast. There are days I still miss mine... maybe again if I get into a situation where I can store an extra vehicle on my own property.
