Wheel offset

Recommended Posts

Hey can anyone tell me if this wheel set up will work on my 2016 Silverado, just ordered a set of vision off Rd. Wheels 18x8.5 0 offset and new rubber 275-65r 18 have a 2" RC level kit on the front.know I'm hoping I didn't screw up just worried about wheel rubbing.

You should be fine. I also have a 2016 with a 2" leveling kit and 275/65/18 tires. My wheels are 18x9 +12 offset and I have plenty of clearance. My tires are flush with the side of the truck. Your 0 offset wheels will move the tires out 1/2" farther than mine.

One should always check with the manufacturer of the lift or level as to what will fit.

For reference this is from the RC level of a 2016 Silverado 1500: http://www.roughcountry.com/gm-leveling-lift-kit-1307-8.html

285/70 R17 Factory 17 - - 265/70 R17 17x9 - +12 to +18mm

285/65 R18 Factory 18 - - 265/65 R18 18x9 - +12 to +18mm

285/55 R20 Factory 20 - - 265/55 R20 20x9 - +12 to +18mm

*According to the bolded text your wheels/tires will fit & you could even step up to 285/65 which is slightly larger.

*If you want to see what your new wheels/tires will look like compared to old ones. https://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

I tried looking at this for a reference but I can't seem to find if a 0,1,+14,+20 will work with my level kit and my 275/70r18 just wondering what offset is the safest to go with without risking the chance of rubbing

This RC says it will not fit /70 anything on an 18, only 285,275or265 /65 on a 18x9 - +12 to +18mm.

0 offset will be fine. The shop may need to trim a bit but a good shop will make it look factory. I just installed 305/55R20 (33.2") tires on Fuel wheels with 0 offset and a BDS level kit (rides better than the rough country kit I had on my '14). If you don't want to trim, you can zip tie the fender lining back a bit. The bottom pic is on my sloped driveway. Truck sits almost perfectly level on flat ground. I can take better pics if you want.

I have almost the same setup as above but with a -24 offset. These trucks don't have as much room as some of the other brands but you can sneak some decent meats under it. I've seen some of the new Ram 1500 sneak 35" tires and -24 wheels on just a level or 33" tires on -44 wheels...

Here is my setup. Only time it rubs is at full lock in reverse.
