Sierra All Terrain X Exhaust

Recommended Posts

I asked parts that exact same question and they said a) they can only order parts based on their parts books which can take months to update on new vehicles and repairs can be delayed and b) they didn't know if the exhaust was tweaked with different air intake and some tuning to get HP bumps on X package and may or may not work on other Sierras. Baffling so many dealers can't address this for those looking to maybe spend some new $$ on a new exhaust like me and want to know all options that won't have droning.

I think this thread is headed in an uninformed direction. I have spoke directly with Borla, and they designed the performance exhaust for the '16 all terrain X specifically for this truck. It's not the same as the GM Borla exhaust you can order for any truck through GMC performance parts and it's NOT the 1 made by Corsa. So far, you can not order this exhaust, it only comes with the X package on the new truck.

I talked to my dealer parts guy, and he said he could order the all terrain x exhaust by itself. It was I think around $100 cheaper than the Borla before you buy the GM borla tips.

Would you be able to post the part number here? What dealership do you use?

Part number 23462043

Shopchevyparts.com actually has it the cheapest before shipping at $896.99. My dealer which is called Cheaps was asking $1195 I think. If I go with it I'll go with my dealer because I like to spend local.

That's one of the same part numbers posted earlier. Looks like that's for the 6.2 double cab or crew cab short.

Lol. No. The RPO code WBC Cat-Back Performance Exhaust (see from the order guide below) is not All Terrain X specific. And it is not made by Borla. We've installed 3-4 of these on Chevy trucks (yep, its not GMC specific either) and TMG Performance is right on the box, as the source supplier, and then the ship to was our ADI who then sends them to us to put on the truck. TMG Performance is the parent company of Volant, and...CORSA. You can even walk into your local Chevrolet OR GMC dealer and order one for your 5.3 or 6.2 Double or Crew Cab truck any time of the day or week, month or year.

If it were All Terrain X "exclusive", then explain the 8 part numbers I posted on the first page: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/189835-sierra-all-terrain-x-exhaust/?p=1843156

NEW! LPO, Cat-Back Performance Exhaust, (dealer-installed)

1 - Requires Crew Cab or Double Cab model and (L83) 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine. Not available with (VQZ) polished exhaust tip, LPO.

2 - Included with (STF) All Terrain X Package. Requires (L83) 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine. Not available with (VQZ) polished exhaust tip, LPO.

The part numbers for this "new exhaust" you've listed, have been available through the GMC public performance parts website for several years, so if this "new" exhaust is what is being put in the X package then this is all just a marketing scam. I have printouts of this exhaust option from 2014. So if 6 GMC dealers and GMC customer service have all been unable to tell me what the new exhaust is that's put in the X is this option, I can understand why they have avoided answering it bc it's just an existing option. What I don't understand is Borla's corporate engineering office telling me they've designed the GM Borla exhaust and a new, GM Borla exhaust designed specifically for the '16 all terrain X. It also makes zero sense that a brand new truck would leave the factory with an exhaust that was going to have to be replaced and installed by a dealer. Sounds fishy to me.

It seems that most of the X Terrain package is installed by the dealer. It just shows up as a regular All Terrain.

My friend works at my local dealer, and he had to install everything on the all terrain x truck they had on the lot.

Yeah I have a 6.2l crew short bed.

The video I seen on YouTube at an auto expo show looked like the corsa exhaust that's in the part number I gave you. The exit of the pipe, and tip were the same. I think I seen it on the fast lane truck.

No. Those exhaust kits with those part numbers were new for 2016 year, but will fit 2014+. There are a completely different set of part numbers for the Borla by GM exhaust. The 8 numbers I posted on the front page, the Corsa made ones, are Double and Crew Cab only. The GM/Borla systems cover all the cab configurations and have two different exit designs (dual split under the bumper, and dual out of the passenger side). The GM Performance system (the Corsa ones) are only single pipe with passenger side exit.
