Picked up a new 2016 All Terrain X, at first there was no change in the exhaust sound. A few days later the dealer called and said I need to come pickup my "muffler" - which is a dealer installed item that was supposed to come with the truck. Turns out its a complete cat back exhaust, the sound is much louder, but no drone and quiet when light on the throttle. Sounds just right. Came in a large box - I could try to get the technician to provide more details or I can post pics if needed. Also they gave me my stock exhaust to bring home.

I would be interested in any more information that you can get. Thanks!

The GM Performance Catback is made by Corsa for GM. These are different than the Borla GM Catback. Just one style system, which is single in/out with a passenger side exit. They are warrantied through GM rather than the Borla one which has the Borla warranty, and not a GM warranty.

Thanks for the information. Is there a part number for this? Can you just order one through the dealer?

Again, these are the Chevrolet/GMC Performance Parts catback (made by Corsa as the boxes have TMG Performance on them, the parent company of Corsa http://www.tmgperformanceproducts.com/index.php).

The GM By Borla is available for all cab configurations, where the GMPP systems are double and crew cab only.

No love for 6.2 double cab standard box?

Look at that list again...Double and Crew Short share the same wheelbase hence the same exhaust package part #.

So does the Corsa system have a flapper valve too? How do they eliminate drone?

How about exhaust tips? Do the Corsa tips come with it. They have the best tips IMHO.

I can't speak for drone on the 1/2 ton with AFM, but on my 15 HD, zero. They have some trickery within their mufflers:

Do I believe them? Yep. I've had mine on for 12k miles, zero drone. Zero.

It is tipped yes, but I believe it is Bowtied (Chevy) or GMC'd (GMC). They etch it on the tip just like they do the Corsa logo on all their other stuff.

I think this thread is headed in an uninformed direction. I have spoke directly with Borla, and they designed the performance exhaust for the '16 all terrain X specifically for this truck. It's not the same as the GM Borla exhaust you can order for any truck through GMC performance parts and it's NOT the 1 made by Corsa. So far, you can not order this exhaust, it only comes with the X package on the new truck.

What if you own an all-terrain X and you damage the exhaust system? There must be a way to replace it
