What do you always keep in your truck and how do you store it?

There are two small screws on the back side. It's screwed to the door on the inside of the cup holders so there is no way for it to slide or move. It was really tight and was difficult to move without being permanently attached BUT my foot would hit it sometimes getting out if the door wasn't al the way open so I put two screws in it.

Some of our agency vehicles are set up that way, but with magazine pouches built right into the door panel.

If you don't want to run screws into the door panel, there is no issue with just clipping it in using the paddle attachment.

gotcha! Looks clean. By the way, where do you store your pistol while driving? I figured with your professional background you would be the perfect person to ask. I don't like to keep my pistol on my hip concealed while driving due to comfort or speed of access. Center console would be a likely choice but then again, speed of access becomes an issue. Your thoughts?

While driving, my pistol is on my person, right side about 5-o'clock. I don't leave my pistol unsecure, placed in vehicle compartment or jam it between seats.

The best place to keep your pistol secure is on your person. If you can't do that, I would suggest mounting it in a good retention holster so it's not able to flop around if there is an accident.

For mounting purposes, Alien Gear has a good holster/mount combination available. I actually just ordered a few to see how it works out. There are pictures on their website, check them out. looks like a good product that mounts solidly and keeps everything secure.

I completely agree with you that the most secure location is on your person. However, drawing from the 5 o'clock (which is where I typically conceal carry as well) is pretty challenging while in a vehicle strapped in with the seatbelt. Oh, and I am ONLY looking for options while operating the vehicle. When I exit, my firearm dismounts with me!! Thanks for the recommendation!

I know it's not ideal or possible for everyone but if you train properly and drill drawing from the seated position, it will become muscle memory and you won't have any issues. The best thing you can do is practice presenting your pistol from inside your vehicle as if you were driving.....at the range or in a secluded area of course, not in public. If you have a garage, that's the perfect place to practice from inside your vehicle.

Practice, practice, practice until it becomes routine and you don't have to think about it. If the time even comes when you need to defend your life or the life of another (hopefully never) there will be no time to think or hesitate about the location of your pistol......Whatever is most comfortable and convenient for you, and works for you, that's the best way to go about it.

Train to become as proficient as possible and be comfortable with your carry methods because the bad guys ALWAYS have the jump, ALWAYS!

Received my AG mounting hardware yesterday. Here's a quick cell phone picture of my car setup with my Sig P320 on board.

Not 100% secure like it is on my waist but it's convenient to carry that way while driving.

that looks awesome! Which holster model is that? I completely agree that it's not going to be as secure as on your hip but as long as you aren't leaving it in the car when you dismount or driving around with a perp in your POV, I think the ease of access wins!
