2016 GMC Sierra All Terrain X LED Light Bar

Recommended Posts

I did my install of 2 12" amazon light bars. Ran my own #10wire from a relay in the engine bay to feed both lights. Pretty much made my own wire harness, I just scavenged the relay and the weatherproof connectors from the harness that came with the new lights. Fishing the wires ended up being a bit more work than i originally thought but not to bad and definitely beats paying the 1200$+ the dealer wanted for the factory option. I ordered the factory upfitter switch and use that to control the relay to turn them on. I followed the wire for the 3rd brake light all the way to the engine bay with my new wires. I ran the switch wire through the big rubber boot behind the engine compartment fuse box. I ended up taking the bolts holding the big black box in the interior off but some people say you can do it without. From another thread a user said you can order the light switch seperately but the harness that you need to connect it all up is not sold separately and only comes in the 1200$ kit. I think the factory lights are also only 7" and much lower wattage.

So I finally had some time to install the lights today and using a combination of the Sport Bar installation manual and the Off Lights installation manual I've got all of the wires run, the 3rd break light is working on the Sport Bar.  I have one last issue that I can't seem to figure out and that's how to insert the extra wires into the BCM Connectors.  I can't seem to push the connector on the yellow wire any further than I have it the picture below.  I think it's about half way pushed in and will not go any further in.  Anyone have any suggestions on how to push the connector all the way in?
