2016 GMC Sierra All Terrain X LED Light Bar

Recommended Posts

Sorry I forgot to include where I put the switch. Since I didn't wanna mess with going thru firewall, if you open up driver door you can see a rubber gromet on side of dashboard. It's just a gromet with no wires. Ran switch wire thru that and it comes out near e-brake. I unclipped the panel underneath steering wheel and ran wire up and then clipped it back in. No need to drill any holes and switch stays there nice and tight. There's also plenty of wire to move it to another location. Sorry for crappy pic the glass over my camera lens broke.

Would you be able to post a picture of the gromet you're talking about? I did a quick look on mine and didn't see anything resembling a gromet... maybe im just blind... hahah. sorry for the inconvenience.... thanks in advance!

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone ever figured out where the existing wires located in the sport bar go? Working on this now and don't want to have to zip tie new wiring all the way though. Planning on wiring new lights to my high beams. Thanks.

Same questions I have. Looking to put a light bar on top of the sport bar. My son says the wires are there already. Anyhow the weird thing is if you look at GMC accessories they ask if you have fog lights or not. I wonder why? Not paying their crazy price for two small lights!

I'm pretty sure they ask if you have fogs or not, because the kit will come with a replacement dial for the headlights. My dealer was showing me a Canyon with the lights installed today and the button for the off-road lights was set in the button for the headlights. The replacement dial has two buttons on the bottom (one for the fogs and one for the off-road lights).

Could be. I think it's best to run my own wires as others have done? I'll install my own switch.

Hey guys, ended up rewiring rather than using existing wiring. Took out a grommet for the hood release in the firewall and resealed. Install went well, but the hardest part was finding a spot to go through the firewall without drilling. My 50" curved light bar somehow miraculously fit to the pre drilled holes with everlast 2" brackets from Home Depot. Don't have a trailer break controller so ended up putting the switch where that would've gone. Also added another switch for a future project. Light works great and well worth it.

The AllTerrain X GM LED lights have a separate switch for them but it is integrated into the Headlamp switch on the dash. Its hard to see but in the pic of the dash in this article you can see the 2 buttons on the headlight knob. 1 for fog and one for roof lights. http://www.autocarnewshq.com/2018-gmc-sierra-1500-4x4-all-terrain-x-specification/

Do you details on the led bar you used? The brackets? And the switch? (Links?) Pics of the switch inside the truck?

I'll try to post a picture of the switches tomorrow. The light bar is a 50" Cree light bar purchased locally. Brackets are 2" everlast brackets from Home Depot. Switches are from Napa. Sorry no links as it's all purchased locally.

By chance does anyone have the installation instructions for this on a 2016 GMC Sierra? I bought the part, but there isn't an installation guide in the box.

Thanks, but that's the installation instructions for the Sport Bar, not the lights.

Its got the harness instructions down at the bottom, and brings it to the bar. No instructions on lights.. though you shouldnt have a problem figuring out a couple screws.

Successful install of http://www.ebay.com/...VZXOrTj&vxp=mtr.

Took a little longer than expected due to bar and firewall issues but its in and looks stock. No rewiring of factory wires.

I'd be happy to help and answer any questions if anyone has any.
Ill post picture upon request.

Happy Trucking
